Learn The Rewarding Art Of Intercession. 1*
~0.9 mins read

Intercession has to do with shifting your attention from your own needs and challenges and concentrating in prayer for others, communities or organisations.

It is mandatory for all believers and it shows our level of maturity in the kingdom, I Timothy 2:1-3.

1. Jeremiah passionately interceded for Israel in the text.

*Note* An intercessor is someone who had vision for what the will of God is for His people and could easily detect when things are amiss.

2. Jeremiah was deeply burdened and sorrowful about the pathetic state of Israel and he was convinced that only prayer can make a difference and he prayed.

*Note* You can only be an intercessor if you have feeling, concern and burden for the pathetic situation of things and people and you passionately desire a change.

3. Jeremiah, while interceding did not transfer the cause of the problem to the rulers and the prophets of those days even though they were part of the problem. Rather, he just prayed passionately for mercy and restoration of lost glory.

*Note* Effective intercession does not condemn others as the cause of the problem but rather put him/herself as part of the problem

WATER BALANCE. 3*
~1.1 mins read
Regulation of Water Output.

Fluid can leave the body in three ways:

i. Urination
ii. Excretion (feces)
iii. Perspiration (sweating)
The majority of fluid output occurs from urination, at approximately 1500 ml/day (approximately 1.59 qt/day) in a normal adult at resting state.

Some fluid is lost through perspiration (part of the body’s temperature control mechanism) and as water vapor in expired air; however these fluid losses are considered to be very minor.

The body’s homeostatic control mechanisms maintain a constant internal environment to ensure that a balance between fluid gain and fluid loss is maintained. The hormones ADH (anti-diuretic hormone, also known as vasopressin) and aldosterone, a hormone created by the renin–angiotensin system, play a major role in this balance.

If the body is becoming fluid deficient, there will be an increase in the secretion of these hormones that causes water to be retained by the kidneys through increased tubular reabsorption and urine output to be reduced.

Conversely, if fluid levels are excessive, the secretion of these hormones is suppressed and results in less retention of fluid by the kidneys and a subsequent increase in the volume of urine produced, due to reduced fluid retention.

In essence, when the water intake of the body is significantly low to the water output from the body, the body suffers. Water is essential to Life and maintaining hydration is Important!
