How My Friend Attempted Suicide Because He Was Denied Admission Into The University(Fiction)
~2.1 mins read
Education is the finest dream in the world anyone would ever pursue. The lack of it in the society today, can cause trauma, frustration, neglect by loved ones, discrimination, and among others. However, because of the rush of people into this sector, there's difficulty in gaining access to schools, especially, higher institution. And this difficulty is what had caused my beloved friend, Joseph Ocheden, to attempt suicide.
Joseph was the first child in a family of 9. His parents were practically poor and struggling. He finished his Secondary education at the age of 17, and because he was brilliant in all subjects, his parents told him he must attend the university for further achievement.
As a poor village boy, Joseph desired to be out of that miserable life and see the light some day. And the only thing he knew that could take him out, was to go to school. He then agreed with his parents to write jamb.
At first attempt, Joseph scored 289 in the UTME and 290 in Post-utme. He was so excited as he successfully beat the cut off marks which was 250. He told the parents to prepare food items for his vacation to school, even before admission list was out. But when admission list finally came out, his name wasn't there.
Joseph took the exams again for the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth year after his Secondary education, all to no avail. He tried several universities with his high scores, but he was continuously denied admission. His parents became tired with him. Two of his siblings graduated and met him at home, still writing jamb. Friends and people around started seeing him as a failure.
On the seventh year, Joseph took another jamb and scored higher than the rest he had ever taken. But nothing came out. He must end this misery. He told himself and went into his room on a lonely afternoon. He set a rope above him and looked at it. What was running through his mind was recounts of the many times he had failed his family and himself. He thought that the only way to end it all was to take his life.
As he approached the rope, his mother walked inside and caught him; Screamed and pushed him away.
The next year, Joseph took another jamb, reluctantly though. And behold, he got the admission to study medicine and surgery. And after seven of study, he became one of the best medical doctor in Africa; his salary was amazing and his life changed in just a year. He then realized that he couldn't get the admission all those years because it wasn't his time. He regretted his action and realised everything on Earth, happens for a reason and at it's own time.

After Giving Birth To Four Kids For Me, See What I Found Out About My Wife (Fiction)
~2.1 mins read
Before you think of getting married, always take your time. Indeed, the saying not all that glitters is gold, is very correct.
I married Christy at the age of 27. The first time I met her in a night club, was the best memory I have ever had. She was the waitress who came serving me and my friends at the VIP room. She was astonishingly beautiful that she got me staring at her for a long time, enough for my friends to start calling me madman. After we left the club, I discovered I left behind my wallet because I was high. Christy was the one who picked it and traced me the next day through the information therein. We started getting along. A month later, we printed our IV card, and before we knew it, we were married. For me, there was no time to waste.
We had our first three children and Christy's beauty had not reduced an inch. I was the luckiest ever, the one envied among friends and neighbors. Apart from her facial looks, she was respectful and down to earth. This made me want to always worship her .
At our fourth child, I asked Christy to resign from her bank job; a job she got when I asked her to quit night club work. I set up a business for her.
One day after a few months, I returned from work and met a man sitting in front of her shop we her. And when she saw me, tried to leave but the man seemed to muttered words aggressively. When I drew closer, I discovered there was a possible dispute between them. I inquired to know what was wrong but neither the man nor my wife would tell me.
I was perturbed and decided since no one would say anything, the man should leave my wife, and the man finally spoke. What the man said, at first amused me, but later I felt like there should be sudden earthquake to swallow me. The man looked me in eyes and told he had come to collect Moses, Janet and Roseline, my children; that they were his.
I would have Strangled the man to dead for toiling with my family, but funny enough he was stronger than I thought I was. When people gathered to separate us, they suggested for a DNA test to be carried out which later to my greatest shock, turned to be in favour of the stranger. Then and only then, did I realized how much and Long my so called wife had been having a secret affairs outside.
I discovered that all the years I spent training the children, I had no child as I wondered who would come claiming the last one.
