DR. AHMAD GUMI COMMITS NO ERROR BY MEETING THE KIDNAPPERS IN THEIR HIDEOUTS.

Writer: Omar Muaz, 2021.

Although the issue of banditry trends, I derive no pleasure in talking about it, for I will end up taking side. Hitler opined that the bread of freedom grows from the hardship of war, I subscribe to his opinion despite its opaqueness. The bourgeoisie guarantee not a even a slice of bread to the proletarians. Consequently, those who are impatient amongst them find it an excuse to take arms and join bandits and kidnappers to earn a living. Yet, the excuse is null and void. But, can we live without a bread?

Government should protect and provide. In this concept; government is expected to protect its citizens from violence. The idea of government, according to Thomas Hobbes, as protector requires taxes to fund, train and equip an army and a police force; to build courts and jails... Moreover, to make sure the citizens live in peace. The FG's inability to secure its citizens from being slaughtered like rams or kidnapped and left with so much ordeals gives me an unhealed insomnia. The FG's system of fighting insecurity in this country owes its citizens a still further evil.

And today there are not a few men, especially the so-called educated ones, who, when make analysis on how insecurities should be fought make up their minds to attack those who put their life at sake to save the country - Dr. Gumi for instance - not knowing, that criticism of theirs, if considered, only promotes the percentage of the attacks since FG couldn't do the feasible for decades.

Nigeria has a small core of critical thinkers. I don't mean to abjure all the opinion by the social media analysts on "whether Dr. Ahmad Gumi should be meeting the kidnappers in their hideouts or not," rather to say that though far from perfect; his meetings with them deliver not a negative result. Some people meme that the shiekh must be questioned of his ability to easily meet with the kidnappers. At this juncture, I want to say that it's not a bad thing if a civilian could put the whole havoc into halt. Nevertheless, Dr. Ahmad Gumi isn't just an ordinary person as some people put it to paper in their articles.

Who's Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi? He is an Islamic cleric, scholar and former military officer with the rank of captain in the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), he is the current Mufti and mufassir at the Kaduna central mosque Sultan Bello. In some countries, someone who served in the country's Defence Academy as a military officer, and retired at the rank of captain wouldn't be scolded if he attempted to make a move that'd bring the insecurity that has been ravaging the country to an end.

In addition, in as much as Islam as a religion of peace is concerned, the  sheikh commits no error by trying to avoid the criminality in this method. Although, the banditry got neither race, ethnicity, nor religion, the two-third of the kidnappers are Northerners and north is predominantly Muslim. As an Islamic scholar, it lies on his shoulder as a responsibility to stop the criminality by admonishing to them. As I said in the first paragraph, and sealed it with the question; "can we live without a bread?" since some of the kidnappers had confirmed that joblessness led them to kidnapping.

To me, it's just a mere opinion though, Dr. Ahmad Gumi is a stalwart sheikh, or a retired captain who puts his life at stake to save the country from banditry and kidnapping. He must have the talent, or miracle as some people mock hm, that enables him to be in the know of the kidnappers' whereabouts. Not necessarily he's one of them as some people falsely alleged. Here, I conclude that it's advisable that the security agency come together with the sheikh to see how to set the criminals to history. Nigeria is an extremely complex country to live in, as an elite or a mass.

May we all be safe.

Dear my half, Luby,

I am the vassal
of the moon, that, through
the cloud, shines,
in a dark night.

          Untold is her light,
          moon she's; said her vassal
          moon she's; said her vassal
in a dark night she emits light.

In the light
of sunlight I see
her eyelashes; from eye to eye
her pinky lips; in kinky and kinky
& write her rite with a right might.

          Untold is her light,
          moon she's; said her vassal
          moon she's; said her vassal
in a dark night she emits light.

In the night
of daylight, please,
do not tell me the tale of unwell,
nor the tale of which I see a cell
but the tale of marvel & marvel.
