THE FIGHT FOR EBUKA

  EPISODE 12 

The committee pastor Real set up have gathered. 20 prominent men all seated.

-praise the Lord, pastor Ebuka started. 

-Halleluyah.

-i want to thank you all for standing by me all these years. You all have been my back bone. Very supportive, financiall, materially and otherwise. Without your supports, that edifice won't have been existing. God bless you all. Please put your hands together for yourselves. You are wonderful people.

They clapped.

-my people, i am heartbroken.(he started crying) they have planned to push me out after my hard work for 15 solid years. The G.o REV.THOMPSON  and Ebuka, the new youth leader are planning evil. It is on this note that i have decided, I AM TURNING THAT CHURCH HALL TO MINE. The only thing Thompson did was buy that land and provided money for foundation. Every other structure is my sweat. I starved for it, i worked for it, i had sleepless nights for it all alone. Thompson can't eat my sweat. I have decided to pay him back his 1 million naira and pull off his sign post. The name of my church will be DIVINE GRACE OVERCOMERS CHRISTAIN CENTER. Thank you.

There was silence. Dr Douglas stood up.

-(cleared his throat ) pastor Real. I appreciate the honour you have for us. I speak as me. I am not in support of this. How can you build on another man's foundation?  God can never be in support of such wickedness. If you want to open yours, you leave. If  REV Thompson hasn't  picked you, brushed you and trusted you enough to hand over a full branch to you, how would you have had the opportunity to do all you have done? I can't be a party to this please. I am not in support of this idea please. 

-Same here. Engineer kola replied. Pastor Real, I'm beginning to doubt your spiritual competent. Can God lead you do this? Did you go to God before taking this decision?  I can't be a part of this.

-what are you all even saying? The local government chairman stood up and replied. There are churches who started like that and still exist today. They even have branches nation wide. Rev Thompson and Ebuka cannot ruin all his efforts just like that. The earlier the better. I'm in support, full support. Go ahead. I will give you every support. Financial, material , man-power, every support. I will use my position as Local government chairman to win this case for you. My daughter is not even comfortable with that Ebuka. She prefers your sermon to his. 

There was chaos. There was confusion. The committee was divided. Pastor Real's supporters were blowing hot. 5 supported Pastor Real,  15 stood against his decision.

The meeting didn't end well. 

Pastor Real went to see his pastor friend. He told him about the meeting he had with his committee.

-i never belived doctor and engineer will stand against me like this. 

-Pastor, you are a fool.

-what ?why that?

-you should have waited to go to prophet UDEME before calling them. Why are you so in a hurry to claim what is already yours? Prophet Udeme would have done something that will turn their hearts to your favour, All of them.

-kai  I'm sorry oooo, i didn't even think towards that direction. I was carried away by G.O and Ebuka's plan. Please when are we going to see prophet udeme. 

-today is his vigil days. We will go and see him tonight. 

-ok. There's this boy in my parish, giving me sleepless nights. That boy Ebuka, i hate him. He is the reason i am at loggerheads with my G.O.

-Prophet Udeme will see to that also. Prophet UDEME will turn away your G.o's heart from your parish. He won't even remember your branch.

God of heaven and the earth

Mighty in battle, battles can't stop you, Baba even before you fight, you have already won.

Have mercy upon us oh Lord , wash us and cleanse us as we approach the throne of grace to obtain mercy. 

Oh Lord, your word says surely the shall gather but not by you, whosoever gathereth for our sake shall scatter. Any gathering that is not of you shall scatter. Oh Lord your word says again, the counsel of the ungodly shall not stand. You disconfietest the craftiness of the ungodly. When men gathered to build the tower of babel, oh Lord, you sent confusion in their mist, as everyone began to speak in different languages. You are still that God. Set them in confusion, those who want to come together for the purpose of evil against your church. Let them set the battle against themselves. Let them fall, let them fail. Who can stand against your authority ? Who dares to tear down what you have set up. Baba do unto them what you did to sennacherib, do to them what you did to king Herod. It is your fight, for thine is this kingdom, the power and the glory thereof, daddy, show forth yourself strong and mighty. Oh Lord their center will not hold. Arrrriiiiissse pooooh Looooorrrrrrd.

That same Night, as they prayed, Pastor Real and his pastor Friend visited PROPHET UDEME. Now, there is this pot in prophet Udeme's Room. The fire in pot according to him is the presence of the SPIRIT OF GOD. 

Immediately pastor REAL stepped into Prophet Udeme's Room, the fire went off.

Prophet UDEME SHOUTED...

-heeeeeeeey!!!!!! Who did you bring here ooooo, this man this evil. I said he is evil. Get out of here. Evil is following you. Evil all over you. Leave here at once.

Pastor Real's friend was confused. He started pleading on his behalf. He begged Prophet Udeme to help pastor Real out. He is in serious trouble.

-Help him with what? The spirit has left. No presence of the spirit. Inshort, both of you leave. Now!!!!!

-Arrrghhh!!!!! (Pastor Real's friend shouted with his hands on his head), Prophet please ooooo, don't send me out o, please, i did not quench the fire oooo, please prophet, pleaseeeeee ooooo. (He turned to Pastor Real) please, abeg, go. Don't stand there and look at me GO.

-pastor solomon!!!! Pastor Real shouted.

-yessss, GO. Just Go. Oga Go naaaa. Don't come and use badluck to offend the spirit of God and transfer your badluck to me.

-it's already late, where do i go from here now? What kind of embarrassment is this? You said we were going to vigil, does this place look like a church? 

-Take this man away from here PROPHET UDEME SHOUTED.

Immediately Pastor Real left, the fire came back. He had to wait in his friend's car. Everywhere was dark. Pastor Real started crying, i will never loose like this. I must have my church back. Even if it takes me anything, i must keep my church.

Ebuka jumped from his sleep. He dreamt he was being hugged and kissed by a snake. He was very worried and called daddy G.O

-son, there is a lady who is coming close to you inform of a saint, but she is out to destroy you. Be very careful. Don't relent in prayers. I will be praying for you too.

-thank you sir.

Juliet started coming closer to Ebuka using BIBLE SHARING. She even told him she wants to join the prayer team. She told Ebuka to teach her how to go for evangelism.  

The preparation for the nationwide programme has commenced.

Juliet called to say she wasn't feeling well. She won't be going for the publicity. After the publicity, Divine, Tonia and Ebuka decided to visit juliet.

She was lying on the couch when they came in. They prayed for her. After the prayers, they were about leaving, juliet told Ebuka her dad wants to see him, he should wait behind , her dad is already on his way. Divine and Tonia left.

Juliet stood up and walked up to Ebuka and was looking at him.

-what? He smiled.

- i love you ebuka

-what!!!!!! 

Before Ebuka could bind the devil, Juliet took off her cloth and stood completely naked and grabbed ebuka so tightly.

-i love you Ebuka, please, i beg you, just this once. And if you refuse, i will scream rape.

-take it easy babe, it's ok. Just sit. Relax. We can't have it here. This is your father's house. He might just walk in. So go get dressed, lets go to my house. It's safer there. 

-ok, ok, ok, I'm coming.

She ran upstairs . 

Ebuka opened the door and ran outside.

- Thank you Jesus. (He said, panting) Satan you are a bastard. I am always an overcomer. Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world. So, this is the meaning of that dream? That was so close. Thank you Jesus.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE 

EPISODE 9

Terver ran out after Mimi and saw that when she was running past their car. He increased his pace and caught up with her. He grabbed her and she pushed his hands away from her.

Mimi: “Leave me alone, don’t you ever touch me again! I hate you!”

Terver: “Please, listen to me. She was lying; I never said any of those things that she said”.

Mimi: “I don’t care what you said or didn’t say. All I know is that I am done with this marriage. That insult and embarrassment was too much for me to take, did you see how everyone in the mall turned to stare at me when she said you told her that I am too wide? For more than one year now I have been tolerating your excesses because of the love I have for you, I understood the fact that you were cheating on me probably because I was unable to give you a child. Now I am pregnant and yet you and your mistress won’t allow me carry this child in peace. If your plan is to cause my blood pressure to shot up so that I can have a miscarriage, then you have failed. I am sure you miss whatever it is that she does to you on the bed and so you can’t wait to have me out of the way. You don’t have to wait any further because I am leaving you for good, I am going to my parents’ house and I will tell them all that you have been doing to me all these years”.

Terver: “You are getting worked up over nothing. That lady was just lying”.

Mimi: “You still have the mouth to talk? As if I didn’t see your phone where you saved her name as Real Deal?”

Terver momentarily lost his voice and he didn’t know what to tell her. He knew that he would fall into serious trouble with his father if news of his extra marital affairs should get to him. 

He was also afraid that Mimi’s anger could lead to a rise in her blood pressure and this could have adverse effects on the baby. Ignoring his status and those passing bye, he got on his knees and held his wife on her feet.

Terver: “Baby, please forgive me. Yes, I know her but I never told her any of those things that she said. Yes, I had one or two intimate thing to do with her but I never said your…your…I never said your vagina is too wide. I couldn’t have said that. You are my wife, the mother of my unborn child and you are the one I truly love. She is jealous and that is why she wants to cause problems for us”.

Mimi: “Are you sure? I hope you are not just saying this because you don’t want me to leave with your child?”

Terver: “No, I am saying this from the depth of my heart. I love you more than I love myself and I promise never to cheat on you again, in fact, I swear!”

Staring at him from her standing position, Mimi’s heart melted and she knew that was no way she could end their marriage like that. She loved Terver more than anyone and anything in the world and so she had no option than to forgive him. She gave him her hand and he stood up.

Mimi: “This our naughty Daddy”, she teased. “I told you to start behaving well but you just won’t listen. Don’t you know that our baby is watching you from the womb? Do you want him to grow up behaving like you?”

Terver: “I have changed o. I promise that such a thing will never happen again. I promise to be the best Daddy in the world”, he placed his ear on her stomach. “Wow, I can hear my boy kicking and calling my name, you see my child is glad you forgave me”. They laughed and drove home.

Terver got to work the next morning and saw a mail about the new staff that was employed and sent to his branch. He was skeptical when he saw that it was a female staff, he had made up his mind to avoid any extra marital affair ever since Mimi got pregnant and he knew that he could go back on his words if he stayed close to a hot female banker. At exactly 7:10am, the new staff walked into his office. His face lit up when he saw her, the same applicant that had come to beg him for employment that he had sent away.

Nana: “Hello, mr Manager. Surprised?”

Terver: “Of course I am not surprised. I know that desperate ladies like you can go to any length to get what they want”.

Nana: “Good, thank God you can see the desperation in me”.

Terver: “I guess you are here to work and not to talk. So, go to the human resource officer, she will show you to your duty post and tell you all that you need to know concerning your job”.

Nana: “I know where to go. I just came to inform you that I want you. It doesn’t matter if you are married to ten women. I am one woman that knows how to get what she wants. Forget my size and appearance, I know what I have upstairs. I am coming for you, watch out”. She left Terver in his office dumbfounded. He couldn’t deny that the girl was attractive and he knew that he would need the grace of God to overcome this temptation.

Mimi woke up in the middle of the night feeling feverish. She was already used to feeling feverish ever since she got pregnant but this one was particular because she always slept well at night but that night, she had found it very difficult to fall asleep. She peeped into Terver’s face and she realized that he was fast asleep and snoring. She picked her phone and checked on the time, 02:13am, it read. She got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to ease herself, careful not to wake Femi up. She realized that her temperature was high and she took a hand towel, dabbed it with water and placed it on her head. After some minutes, she returned to bed where she kept on tossing up and down for some minutes. Then she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and woke up with a start. Terver who was fast asleep also jerked up at that moment.

Terver: “What is it?” he asked with alarm in his eyes.

Mimi: “I don’t know, I have been feeling very uncomfortable. Then there is this sharp pain in my abdomen”.

Terver: “Could it be the baby coming?”

Mimi: “Don’t be silly, Terver. The pregnancy is not even six months yet. The baby has some months to stay in there”.

Terver: “Don’t blame me, I can’t wait to have him around, you know….”

“Ah! Yaay!” Mimi screamed forcing him to swallow his word”.

Terver: “What is it? Are you okay?” he was obviously frightened this time around.

Mimi: “My stomach”.

Terver: “What is wrong with your stomach? He asked sitting up from the bed”.

Mimi: “Terver”.

Terver: “Yes?”

Mimi: “I feel wet down there”.

Terver: “Where is down there? Wet as how?” he was beginning to lose his patience.

Mimi: “There”, she pointed in between her legs.

Terver quickly grabbed the duvet that was covering her and flipped in on the floor. There they saw that Mimi was bleeding.

“Jesus Christ”, Mimi shouted and closed her eyes, shielding them from the blood.

Terver: “My God you are bleeding. We have to rush to the hospital now before something happens to the baby. He picked his car keys from his bedside drawer and carried her gently not minding the havoc the dribbling blood was making on his pyjamas.

Terver drove to the hospital where his wife had registered for ante natal and the nurses on duty rushed to the car and took her in. The doctor on duty was the same doctor who attended to Mimi when she was involved in an accident and he wasted no time in collecting her file and rushed in to the room where Mimi was lying in the pool of her own blood.

Doctor: “Mr Terver what happened to your wife?”

Terver: “Doctor, I don’t know o, we were lying down and she suddenly started complaining of pain in her abdomen, next thing, she was bleeding”.

The doctor sent Terver out when he noticed that he was nervous.

Few minutes later, the doctor came out and Terver who was waiting outside the door ran to him.

Terver: “Doctor, how is my wife and the unborn baby? Can I go in and see my wife now?”

   

The doctor, who was wearing a frown, cleaned the sweat forming on his brow with his handkerchief, an act that confounded Terver’s agony.

Doctor: “Come with me to my office”.

Terver’s heart flew to his heart, he felt within him that all was not well with his wife.
