PINNICK ISSUES DIRECTIVES TO BENEFICIARIES AS NFF RECEIVES $1m FROM FIFA
~1.7 mins read
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has issued directives to beneficiaries after the country’s football body received $1million from FIFA as COVID-19 palliatives.

Pinnick urged beneficiaries of the $1 million to ensure hundred percent compliance to guidelines by ensuring that all funds are paid into designated accounts.

The NFF boss, in a series of tweets via his Twitter account on Wednesday, also thanked FIFA for the kind gesture and wished FIFA’s President, Gianni Infantino, a speedy recovery from COVID-19 infection.

“Huge appreciation to football’s world governing body, @FIFAcom, for the $1 million (one million dollars) the Federation has received in the frame of COVID-19 palliatives. The money was received by the @thenff and we re-confirmed the purpose from FIFA two days ago,” Pinnick tweeted.

“@FIFAcom also sent $600,000 to the Federation for the FIFA Forward 2.0 projects in Birnin-Kebbi and Ugborodo. At $300,000 each, it will enable the mini-stadia in both centers to start at a very good pace, as we earmark completion by the end of March 2021.

“As a further breakdown, the $1 million for palliatives is composed of $500,000 for men’s football and $500,000 for the women’s game. FIFA has also promised to send the Federation an additional $500,000 sometime in January 2021, also as part of COVID-19 palliative efforts.

“On the continent, we have received confirmation from @CAF_Online that the Federation will receive the expected $300,000 from the Confederation on or before Sunday, the 1st of November.

With the $200,000 we have already ring-fenced from our sponsors’ funds for the purpose the coast will then be clear for us to start the disbursement of funds to the beneficiaries, as captured in our approved template, from next week.

“Even though we are bolstered by the guidelines from FIFA strictly outlying the purposes of these funds as well as the approval of the @thenff Executive Board, we will also interface with our auditors, PricewaterhouseCoopers, on each and every line item, to ensure the disbursements conform to global best practices.

“Beneficiaries MUST ensure 100% compliance to guidelines by ensuring that all funds are paid into designated accounts.

“I would also like to thank all beneficiaries for their patience and understanding at these trying times. Finally, I would like to wish @FIFAcom President, Gianni Infantino God’s speed as he recovers. Thank you.”

Amazing: Meet Sixteen Ugliest Footballers In The World
~2.7 mins read

Footballers are one of the richest persons in the world. A one by one look at ugly players that haven’t been graced with the best look.

From players who have serious talent – to less well-known ones that don’t often appear on the back pages. Take a look at our unmissable list!

Mesut Özil: Many have compared the Arsenal midfielder with Nemo the fish. His eyes do seem to be playing in another league.

Héctor Herrera: The now Atletico Madrid player looks quite disproportionate: It all starts with his protruding ears, very small head and prominent jaw line.

Wayne Rooney: The main problem of this former Premier League ‘bad boy’ was his retracting hairline, at only just 25 years old. The striker spent over £20,000 trying to fix it by having a capillary graft…and it doesn’t seem to have worked.

Felipe Caicedo: He was voted the ugliest player in the Copa America in 2011. The Ecuadorian, who plays for Lazio, is considered ugly but charismatic.

Jairo Patiño: The now-retired former Llaneros player was called an ‘Old Man’ even in his youth. You only have to look below to see why.

Ángel Di María: Carles Rexach, ex-footballer and manager of Spain, said a few years ago that Real Madrid had sold ‘The Noodle’ due to his weedy figure. Di Maria was also officially declared the ugliest player in the Premier League, in a poll to over 250 women. Now at PSG, the Argentine is making up for his looks with goals.

Sulley Muntari: The Ghanian who plays now plays for Albacete is considered ugly because all his features seem to be centered in the middle of his face.

Hameur Bouazza: The now-retired midfielder has a rather triangular head, a broad nose, and ears that could make him easily mistaken for the FA cup trophy.

Franck Ribery: Fiorentina’s French international has had his fair share of controversy over the years reportedly having slept with an underage prostitute, however the cruelly named ‘Scarface’ suffered a terrible accident when he was just 2 years old and was the victim of insults at school.

Carlos Tévez: They call this Argentinian the ‘Apache’. At only 10 months old, a jug of hot water fell on him a causing third-degree burns. Now a famous footballer, Tevez has refused to undergo cosmetic surgery to erase the scars.

Gervinho: Roma player Gervinho has never been told he has a small forehead. Being bold at the top of his head and then having weird plats down to his neck, it only adds to his amazing looks.

Scott Chipperfield: The Australian is balding, along with prominent nose and droopy eyes which have led him to be part of this ranking.

Joleon Lescott: The former West Brom player got this scar on the front of his head when he was involved in a car crash at 5 years old. He spent many months in intensive care in hospital and after many operations he finally completed his dreams of becoming a footballer.

Ronaldinho: ‘Ronnie’, a football legend and a party animal, is characterized by his large mouth and prominent teeth. Do you think it’s ugly? Well has undergone cosmetic surgery to try and look better.

Daniel Ludueña: Genetics has been cruel to the midfielder, called ‘Hachita’ because it has a much more ugly face than his younger brother.

Ralf: This player has a wide, prominent nose that has led him to take a spot on our list.
