Thursday Transfer News Updates: Zaha, Aouar, Lemar, Smalling, Jovic Latest
~3.1 mins read
Here are the latest transfer news updates on Thursday:
1. Zaha to Manchester United
Manchester United are now scrambling for alternatives to top target Jadon Sancho with Dortmund unwilling to lower their evaluation of €120m for the English starlet.
Sancho has been linked all summer to United but they have been unable to meet Dortmund's demands for the winger an now they have turned their attentions to Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha who was very close to joining Everton last summer has made it clear that he wants a move to a bigger club where he can compete for trophies.
Zaha had a stint at Old Trafford before being sold by former manager David Moyes and now he could be on a sensational return to his former club with him available for around £40m.

2. Aouar to Arsenal

Arsenal are set to make a last push to sign Lyon captain Houssem Aouar.
Arsenal are looking to raise funds from the sale of midfielder Lucas Torreira to Atletico Madrid and Kolasinac to Fiorentina inorder to sign Aouar from Lyon.
Arsenal need a creative midfielder desperately and any hopes of signing Thomas Partey has been quenched with the club now focusing of getting the deal for Aouar over the line.
Aouar ended last season with 10 goals and 9 assists and would inject creativity into the current midfield and he is Mikel Arteta preferred choice.

3. Lemar to RB Leipzig

It is fair to say Thomas Lemar's move to Atletico Madrid has not worked out. After showing exceptional potential at As Monaco alongside Kylian Mbappe, Lemar has been a flop at Atleti despite coming in for big money.
He has failed to adapt to Simeone's tactics and has found it hard to break into the first 11 and now an escape route has been shown with RB Leipzig reportedly interested in his services.
Leipzig are looking for new attacking options after selling Timo Werner and Ademola Lookman to Chelsea and Fulham respectively this summer.
Leipzig could be the perfect place for Lemar to restart his career under the tutoring of young manager Julian Nagelsmann. Leipzig are now looking to get him on loan this season with an option to buy.

4. Smalling to Roma

According to reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, As Roma are preparing a new bid for Chris Smalling and are confident that they can get the deal across the line before the transfer window closes.
Manchester United values Smalling at €20m and are adamant that they won't sell him for less than that after having a stellar season on loan with Roma last year and establishing himself as one of Serie A best defenders.
Head coach Paulo Fonseca also confirmed that the club are working to reach an agreement with Manchester United to resign his captain.

5. Jovic to Manchester United

Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic on loan.
Jovic has failed to adapt to life in Madrid since his move from Frankfurt last year and they are looking reduce their wage bill with Jovic not impressing head coach Zinedine Zidane.
Manchester United are in need of a back up striker to Anthony Martial with Odion Ighalo's loan expiring in January and Jovic could be the perfect option for them with Madrid open to doing business for the forward.
Which transfer are you hoping happens before the Oct. 5 transfer deadline?
