Sunday: Latest Transfer Done Deals, Updates On Messi, Aubameyang, Van De Beek, Ndiaye And Mendy
~5.4 mins read
1. Chelsea 'submit improved bid worth £18m for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy'
Chelsea have reportedly submitted an improved bid worth £18m for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, as the blues coach Frank Lampard set to continue lavish summer spending on a possible replacement for the underperforming Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Frank Lampard has expressed his admiration for the 28-year-old Rennes goalkeeper. The Senegal International will be a cheaper option for Kepa Arrizabalaga. The blues have learnt that their top goalkeeper target Jan Oblak will be difficult to get, considering the amount of money the club spent so far in the transfer market. The Spanish side Athletico Madrid are also unwilling to let their shot stopper leave this summer.
Rennes have rejected Chelsea's initial £15m offer for the goalkeeper, but Frank Lampard side have returned with an improve bid in an effort to make the deal happen. The Senegal International has contract with Rennes until 2023, and the French side are not willing to let their goalkeeper leave for a discounted price.

2. Manchester United 'keeping tabs on Donny van de Beek'
Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. The Red devils are experiencing a frustrating summer transfer market, with no breakthrough in their pursuit for their priority targets this summer. The Red devils were frustrated with the way things are turning out to be in the transfer market, with Jadon Sancho deal no where close to completion.
The Ole Gunner Solskjaer side want to make quick move and amend their lapses so far, with Donny van de Beek. The 23-year-old midfielder have been linked with a move away from the Eredivisie giants for several months, now the player was left out of Ajax's squad due his transfer issues and development. The player is now reportedly waiting to see if Barcelona will make a bid for him before he decides his future.
According to Sky Sport News, Van de Beek is Keen on moving to Premier League, and the Netherland international is strongly on Manchester United radar ahead of a new campaign. It remains to be seen if Manchester United could convince the player to join them before the transfer window shuts.

3. Lionel Messi's £632m Barcelona transfer clause 'has expired' in major Man City boost
Barcelona are hoping to reach a £250m compromise with Manchester City over Lionel Messi deal, but according to the latest reports from Spain Messi's suitors no longer have to trigger a release clause to get the Argentine. Manchester City are hoping to sign Lionel Messi for free after the player revealed that he has an option in his contract to leave at the end of each season.
However, Barcelona claim that arrangements has expired since June 10 and can't come into effect until next summer. According to recent reports from Spain, Lionel Messi has told the club that he will not show up for pre-season training in an effort to force his move out of the club.
Barcelona chiefs are hoping to agree a £250m players plus cash deal with Manchester City, rather than go into war with the Messi over his potential move to the Premier giants. The blues are in the pole position to sign the six-time Ballon d'Or winner, after he made it clear that he is ready to leave the Catalans this summer.

4. Moussa Ndiaye: Barcelona sign 18-year-old Senegal defender
Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Segal Youth wonderkid Moussa Ndiaye from Aspire Academy, on a three-year deal with an option of further two-year extension. The Catalan giants announced that the 18-year-old full-backs will have a release clause of €100 million after the total cost of his transfer was around €500,000.
Ndiaye has proven to be a versatile player who can play in both centre of the defense and the flanks. The player helped his country Senegal to a second place finish at the 2019 U-20 Cup of Nations, where he was named the player of the tournament. The player will be a valuable addition to Barcelona.
