Meet your ancestors: what you need to know about early men.
The origin of man has always been a debate right from time because there are lots of theories attached to it, one would begin to wonder which of them is true.
Although these theories provide solid evidence, there are still some loopholes in them. The most common is the theory of Divine creation, which shows that humans were created by a Divine creator( A God), another is the theory of evolution which show that human evolved from an ape-like community.
It's impossible to get the real origin of man, at least we can trace our ancestors and record how they changed over time.
Homo Habilis

The first human species was discovered in Africa they are known as the Homo habilis. They evolved in Africa about 2 million years ago. The discovery has made researchers accept that human evolved in Africa from an Ape-like community.

The community is dominated by the male species which serves as protection against predators. Human predators then were hunting Hyenas, they would throw stick and stones in group to fight against these hyenas. Stick and stones were the only weapons available. The homo habilis mostly feed on meats which have contributed to the growth of their brain. They also depend on underground organs I.e, tubers and sharing of food.
Homo erectus (Upright Man).
This specie of human evolved in Africa, they expanded quickly across Eurasia. They are the first human-like species. Their body is sparsely covered with hair, they have a flat face and a prominent nose. Their long leg allowed them to navigate the old world. They are the first ancestors to control and make use of fire.
Homo neanderthalensis (the Neanderthal).
They appeared in Eurasia about 200,000 years ago.
[Homo neanderthalensis]
The Denisovans.
They lived in Asia about 200,000- 50,000 years ago.
Homo floresiensis (the “hobbit”).
They lived in the Indonesian forest island of Flores(100,000- 50,000 years ago).
Homo Naledi (“star man”).
They lived in South Africa. The exact time cannot be ascertained.
Homo sapiens (“modern humans”).
They are also known as wise men. They appeared first in Africa and began to spread around the world. This is the world we live in now. Our intellectual and emotional capacity made us survive and we are the last species of human existing.
