As usual, I attend mass there every Sunday. I mean @adoration Umuchigbo here in Enugu. Service today ended around 4pm. That BBN talk was around 1:30 or so. Service was well underway by then. 

In his usual charismatic preaching style, Fr Mbaka talked about parents that leave their kids to watch whatever they want on television. He said and I  quote 'If you ban them from watching it in your house, they will go watch it elsewhere. Instead, watch whatever it is with them'. 

It was at this point he now brought up the BBN thing y'all are carrying on ur head ignorantly. If you have ever been to any parish house, you will know that no priest lives alone. Like they have seminarians, workers, mass servers, relatives and even people they don't really know living with them.

Now it was the people living in the parish house he actually saw watching the show most likely in the living room. And coincidentally, it was at the point Erica was spewing all the ugly words in her vocab arsenal. That was when he asked them what exactly they were watching and they went on to explain it. Including who Laycon is, who Erica is and what exactly was happening in the reality show at that time.

Long story cut short, of the 5-6 hours we spent worshipping God today, that BBN talk took only 1-2mins. And he was only sighting an example. African parenting style in the first place wasn't the theme of today's service.

So before you go on dragging his name wrongly, please ask for clarification. Or better still ask someone to buy today's service CD for you.

I am usually very sensitive about my faith. Dragging Catholics as a whole because of something you don't even understand how it started is not just unfair, it is totally WRONG. Some are even saying 'he didn't see any other thing to use as an example. Why can't he talk about the increased VAT in our light bills?' Trust me, if Fr Mbaka wants to talk about light bills or politics, we will all know.
