LET GOD TEACH YOU
"I have not departed from Your judgment: for You have taught me" (Psalms 119:103).
One of the fascinating things about having fellowship with God's word is that through the Holy Spirit, God is a teacher. He taught David how to fight and how to understand His word (Ps. 144:1; 119:102).
Do you ever desire to be taught by God to be a doer of His word and to understand it? Take note of the following.
The first requirement for God to teach you is that you must be MEEK (Ps. 25:9). Humility draws God to you, but pride drives Him faraway from you. Humility is a matter of your heart's posture or disposition towards God before it is expressed before men.
Humility is to depend on God for everything you need, and not just one particular thing. Do you depend on Him to teach you His word or you run to men? It's not bad to have men explain some confusing terms to you about His word, but first, sit down at His feet to hear Him speak.
God cannot teach you in your own terms, must follow His terms and conditions. One of such is that you must MEDITATE in it day and night (Ps. 1:2). Biblical Meditation focuses your thoughts on God's word over a long period of time but Transcendental Mediation tells you to blank out your mind. One is godly, the other is satanic.
Through biblical meditation you make contact with the Spirit that inspired the scripture. But if you read it as a letter, it'll destroy you (2 Cor. 3:6).
It takes a veiled mind to read God's word as a letter, and as such, to the reader's peril. But when He opens the eyes of your mind, you'll behold the wonders coded in His word.
Lastly, to have God teach you, you need the HOLY SPIRIT (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit is the best teacher that would make you understand the Bible. No wonder Paul's knowledge about the scripture was divinely imparted (Gal. 1:12).
When the Holy Spirit teaches you, the added benefit is that He gives you what it takes to obey it - understanding - provided you ask Him (Ps. 119:34).
Let God teach you. It's far better than when you allow men teach you. Remember, it's humility when you depend on Him to be taught because it also deepens your koinonia with the Holy Spirit.
I have not departed from Your judgment: for You have taught me. Will this equally be your testimony?
