Hair relaxer is used by almost every lady that plaits hair, it is also used my some males because it makes the hair soft and easy to style. There are many relaxer products out there which all started small, if you even see the places where most of these big names relaxers produce their goods, you will be surprised because most of these things can be produced at one's backyard.
Equipments needed for production
• Scale
• Measuring cup• Pot
• Gas cylinder or stove
• Thermometer
• Gloves
• Nose cover
• Bowl
Ingredients
• Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) - 1kg
• Lanolin - 1kg
• Paraffin oil - 6kg
• Petroleum jelly - 7.5kg
• cethyl Alchohol - 750g
• Stearic acid - 25g
• Glycerine - 500g
• Paraffin wax - 25kg
• Butyl paraben - 100g
• Water - 2 and half litre
• Formalin - half cup
Preparation
• Step 1: Place pot on fire and supply medium heat to it• Step 2: place Petroleum jelly in the pot, followed by the lanolin, paraffin wax, cethyl Alchohol, paraffin oil and stearic acid then let it dissolve/melt completely before stirring• Step 3: divide the water provided into two parts, one should be in larger volume than the other then dissolve caustic soda/sodium hydroxide in large amount of water completely (I will be referring to the mixture of water and caustic soda as diluted caustic soda/sodium hydroxide)• Step 4: divide the diluted sodium hydroxide/caustic soda in two equal parts then dissolve glycerin in one part• Step 5: dissolve the Butyl paraben in the remaining water you divided• Step 6: pour the mixture in the pot into the other part of caustic soda then add the water containing butyl paraben to it• Step 7: heat the mixture in the pot and test with a thermometer till it reaches 460°C• Step 8: add the mixture containing Glycerine and caustic soda to the one in the pot, do it very slowly• Step 9: let the mixture cool finally in the pot before packaging it as desired.Conclusion
Most relaxers affect or burn the scalp because of the active ingredient in It which is caustic soda, to reduce that, the caustic soda added in the production may be reduced by a fraction.
Hair relaxer sells well because people always love a new relaxer in the market as long as it has a good label, name, container and the price differs by a little margin to the popular ones. The main hindrance to a business plan like this is marketing because you will need to sell your goods far and near so it can be well known. Stay blessed and make profits
