Secretary Of State For Health Speaks On Current Covid 19 Update
~1.4 mins read
We have a stable occupancy rate. At the moment, the occupancy is 53% in the intensive care units for adults ", said Lacerda Sales, at the daily press conference to update information about covid-19, at the Ministry of Health.
According to the epidemiological bulletin released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS), there are 112 people in intensive care, which represents in percentage terms 0.2% of the total of 805 people hospitalised due to covid-19 (2.9% of all infected cases).
Lacerda Sales also said that the global fatality rate is 4.1%.
A week after the beginning of the partial reopening of the country, with the reopening of some sectors of the economy, the Secretary of State considered that it is not yet time to take stock, arguing that the fight against the pandemic by covid-19 "is a marathon with obstacles" and not “a short, fast run”.
The director-general of Health, in turn, took advantage of the initial phase of the press conference to, once again, appeal to parents and caregivers to vaccinate children and thus avoid other infectious diseases.
Graça Freitas thanked the pharmacists who “have been actively encouraging vaccination and resumption in the same way that it was done before the emergency due to covid-19” and the nurses who continue to vaccinate children every day.

Those whose samples tested positive in Nairobi within the last 24 hours are from the Kenyatta National Hospital (3), Embakasi (2), Kibra (1) and Pumwani (1).
Patients who tested positive in Mombasa are from Mvita (3),  Changamwe (2), Kisauni (2), Nyali (2) and Likoni (1).
