Truck Crushes University Lecturer, His Wife And Three Children To Death In Benue

From The Information Reaching NAIJACOVER Desk, A University of Mkar lecturer, Moses Tarnongo, his wife and three children were killed in a ghastly accident in Benue State.
Two other persons including another University of Mkar lecturer, Joshua Leva also lost their lives in the accident which occurred on Saturday evening, October 10, at Gbatse community along Ugbema-Adikpo road in Ushongo local government area of the state, NaijaCover Reports.
The University Registrar, Rev. Emmanuel Astor, who confirmed the incident on Sunday in Makurdi, said Moses Tarnong was killed alongside his wife and three children. The two lecturers were from the department of Mass Communication.
The registrar said the victims were on transit to Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area to see a one cleric when the incident happened.
According to eye-witness account Who Notify NAIJACOVER, a trailer truck rammed into a stationary Toyota car with registration number MKD-300-NH, crushing the seven occupants to death.
The witness claimed that the driver of the truck purchased a fairly used car and kept it aboard and was about dodging a police check-point when he rammed into the Toyota car. Reports said it took hours to bring out the bodies from the crushed vehicle, NaijaCover Reports.
Confirming the incident, FRSC Public Enlightenment Officer in the state, DRC Joyce Akura, said the incident occurred along Ugbemea-Adikpo road late Saturday.
Akura said that the accident involved two vehicles – a truck with registration number WKR 496 XA and a Toyota car with registration number MKD 300 NH, adding that 12 passengers were involved in the crash.
She explained that seven passengers were confirmed dead, one was injured and was receiving treatment, while the remaining four escaped unhurt.
The FRSC official said the cause of the accident had yet to be ascertained, adding that the corps would conduct a “crash investigation’’ to determine the cause of the crash.
“Twelve passengers were involved in the crash; nine were males, three females. The accident was between two vehicles, a MAN-diesel truck with registration number WKR 496 XA and a Toyota car with registration number MKD 300 NH,’’ she said.
She said the dead bodies had already been deposited at a morgue in Ushongo.
Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom has sent heartfelt condolences to families of the victims, the management, staff and students of University of Mkar.
He described the incident as devastating and urged relevant agencies to investigate the unfortunate development.
Governor Ortom prays for the repose of the souls of the departed and consoles the bereaved families to look unto God for strength to bear the pain of losing their loved ones.

Nollywood Actor, Tunde Amoke & A Teacher Rape A 16-Year-Old Girl In Osun

A 16-year-old girl in Osogbo, Osun State has narrated how her teacher at Osogbo Government High School, Gbenga Ayeni and his friend, a Nollywood actor, Tunde Amoke, raped her under the pretext of featuring in a film to raise money for her West African Examination Council (WAEC).
The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest of the duo on Tuesday.
The girl, a daughter of a pastor, said Gbenga, her Financial Accounting teacher, promise to help her raise money for her WAEC and lured her to a place at Latona area in Osogbo on Sunday, February 16, 2020 and raped her.
She said her teacher linked her with the actor who also promised her that she would become a movie star and be able to raise money for her WAEC exam.
She said that the actor invited her to a location at Onibueja area in Osogbo on February 18, 2020 to partake in a film production and also raped her.
The girl said her teacher and the actor warned her not to get pregnant and threatened her not to tell anyone about it.
She said that the duo advised her to take water with plenty salt which she did after which she bled for 15 days.
The girl said she later approach a Non-governmental organisation in the State, Value Female Network (VFN) and opened up on her ordeals.
The Head of the gender unit of the NGO, Moriike Yaagboyaaju, described the action of the teacher and the actor as condemnable, saying that the two of them were expected to be good role models to the up and coming.
The PPRO confirmed that the teacher and the actor have been arrested by men of the Dugbe Divisional Police Headquarters and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command and assured that the matter would be diligently investigated.
