Andy Uba- I Wont Withdraw Petition Against Soludo
~1.7 mins read
The All Progressives Congress in Anambra State has said that it will pursue the governorship elections at the tribunal because it has enough evidence that the elections were manipulated.
Speaking with Saturday PUNCH, the Deputy Director, Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organization, Mr Ikechukwu Onyia, said Uba believed that the declaration of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof. Charles Soludo as the winner of that election was faulty.
Onyia said the APC candidate approached the tribunal in line with Electoral Act and constitution.
According to him, Uba had a strong case at the tribunal because his votes at some places like Abatete and Oba in Idemili North were not recorded. He applauded the tribunal’s ruling granting the inspection of the Certified True Copy of the materials used in the election.
In his words, “He said, “It is pertinent to emphasise for the umpteenth time that Senator Uba’s determination to diligently pursue his petition is propelled by his genuine desire to use the instrumentality of government to set new development agenda for the state and prove that Anambra can be better than what it currently is under APGA’s 16 years watch. “We hope to prove our petition before the court. We have enough evidence to prove that INEC declared Soludo the governor elect in error or deliberate attempt to deceive the general public.
“Therefore, in line with his earlier stand that there are valid grounds to challenge the results declared by INEC, Uba will go on with his petition at the tribunal challenging INEC’s declaration of Soludo as the governor-elect.
“Like some people are saying, ‘Anambra is not Imo’ because of the Supreme Court intervention, but they have forgotten that before Imo, court had removed two governors and APGA benefitted.
“Court removed Ngige and APGA benefited, court removed Uba, 17 days of being sworn in, not because Uba’s election was fraudulent, but because court said Peter Obi’s tenure has not elapsed; again, APGA benefited. So, before Imo, APGA had benefited in the removal of two governors in Anambra.
“The victims of the judgments did not kill themselves. So, if after judicial interrogation and they found out that Uba’s petition has merit, they should declare him and give him judgment, APGA will tow the same line Uba and Ngige did when they lost.”

Ahmed Gumi- I Dont Have Anything To Do With Bandits Anymore
~1.2 mins read
Famous Kaduna-based Islamic pastor, Ahmad Gumi revealed in an interview with Premium Times on Wednesday December 8 that he would no longer serve as a mediator to bandits anymore. He pivoted his declaration on the assertion of bandits as terrorist by a court.
According to him, it will be perilous for him to keep on connecting with the bandits since they've been pronounced terrorist by the government.
He said, Since the central government has proclaimed them terrorist, he has nothing to do with them anymore. He wouldn’t want to open himself to risk again and to put a focus on himself superfluously.
In his words;
"I have attempted everything I could do to advise the country on the most ideal way to do it, however it appears to be my recommendation has fell (fallen) on hard of hearing ears."
Gumi included that from now, he would be a observer in the crisis.
He said;
“I have endangered my life for peace by going to the forest and engaged the bandits. Among them there are rock bandits, they are dangerous, armed ready to fire.
“It is dangerous, still we risked our lives to see that we bring peace to this nation. Because somebody has to take that risk and we took it and thanked God we came out safely and knowledgeable, knowing how to come about this issue.
“Maybe in the future when the political situation changes for better, we can do it again so that there will be peace, harmony and tranquility in the country.”
