~4.9 mins read
Good evening to you all. Today been 31st October 2020 I present to you what Aisha Yesuf said on her twitter page. But before going further to look at her statement, I want you to know that Aisha she is well known in protesting against the present government. And report has it that she has been informed how people are cursing her at Mosques and different places. But she asked a question that people who are cursing her, why they did not do so when she was protesting against the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan?
Friends, as I stated above she took to her official twitter page and made a statement that got lots of reactions.
She said, “I heard I am being cursed in mosques! People finish praying and take time out to curse me in their prayers. I have asked that they should please let me know how many of these curses they rained on me when I was making the same demands during GEJ! We are all already cursed in Nigeria. Rolling on the floor laughing."
According to report gathered, Aisha belongs to a group called Bring Back Our Girls. She was also one of the forces of the end Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) movement that she is always flowing with hijab on social media.
Furthermore, it is very important to know that several northern elements, including an actor, threatened to harm her because of her active role in the protests.
The following people, Zahradeen Sani, Zainab Abdullahi and Kannywood starts called on northerners to attack her active role in the protests.
Finally in responding, newsmen stated that Aisha Yesufu also tweeted, “I am not known in the North but a northern actor and actress are taking time out to call for attack on me. Until Nigerians put sentiments aside and loudly demand Secure in North and end Insecurity. But I hear they said protest is not allowed in Islam. It seems killings of innocent people the president and commander in- chief doing nothing is allowed. What do I know?â€

TO CHRISTIANS WHO BELIEVE IN SELF DEFENSE: MY PERSONAL REFLECTION.
~1.7 mins read
MY APPEAL FOR CHRISTIANS WHO BELIEVE IN SELF DEFENSE: PERSONAL REFLECTION
The Nigerian society is becoming bloodier and more violent as our communities are constantly under attacks. Christians and other marginalized groups are serially assaulted by insurgents the government identifies as "unknown gunmen", but also claim that these gunmen are "paying back" what has been done to them.
These disturbing situations have aroused so much concern -- even worry -- among Christians. Whereas some are calling for self defense, some argue that Christians must not take up arms. If you ask me personally, I honestly don't know which position I stand for. However, I want to share a few reflections that enable me reason with those Christians calling for self defense.
(1) The fear that these attacks would keep coming until certain peoples are totally decimated.
(2) The fear that somehow, there is (or might be) some age long, well planned agenda to completely obliterate certain peoples and eliminate them from their land of heritage so as that land could be owned by their assailants.
(3) The fear that there's an ethnic group that regard other ethnic groups as semi-humans that must be subdued, dominated and ruled.
(4) The fear that government seems to do nothing other than fabricate stories to justify the killings of a certain people, and excuse the violent activities of others.
(5) The fear that government is tacitly, albeit persistently, portraying victims as villains of the same violence.
(6) The fear that a new nation is gradually born -- but this time on the cradle of injustice, violence, falsehood and dissension.
(7) The fear that this country can't survive -- let alone thrive -- in an atmosphere of marginalization, emasculation, strangulation and subjugation of certain peoples by another who feel superior.
(8) The fear that government has shown little or no interest in brokering peace; but only encouraging revenge.
These fears are real. And as the Indian revolutionary Mahatma Gandhi asserts, fear is the enemy; not hate. I believe some Christians are calling for self defense not because of hate; but because of these fears. We love our fellow human beings -- including our haters and killers; but we need to face these fears. And if facing these fears require taking up arms to defend ourselves, our lands and other innocent marginalized groups, then I think posterity would judge us just for taking this stance.
