Woman Left Without A Forehead After Car Accident
~1.7 mins read
A woman was left without a forehead for two years following a car crash where her feet were resting on the dashboard.
Grainne Kealy’s knees were forced into her face by the airbag that inflated under her feet after her boyfriend's jeep hit black ice and went into a wall.
The car was travelling at 120mph when the accident happened.
The now 36-year-old, was 22 when the accident happened and she's still recovering years later.
Doctors had to remove Grainne's foreheard and she says "looked a little strange".
Grainne, from Laois, Ireland, told Fabulous magazine: "When the jeep collided with the wall the airbags inflated as they do but because my feet were on top of mine it actually pushed my feet, knees first into my face."
She was rushed to hospital with multiple facial fractures and she had a cerebrospinal fluid leak from her brain which required treatment by a neurosurgeon at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital.
Grainne explained: “They told me that I had pushed in and up my face and they would have to basically pull it all out and put it back together.”
Even though the operation was a success the young woman suffered complications and her forehead was removed.
In 2009 a custom Italian ceramic forehead was fitted but despite being finished with her plastic surgery, Grainne is still dealing with the after affects of the accident.
She said: “I constantly lose words while in the middle of a conversation. This can happen to me 20 times a day.
“I get headaches when too many people are talking around and I sometimes find it difficult to stay focused.”
Now Grainne is trying to spread the message about the dangers of travelling with your feet on the dashboard
Writing on her Facebook page in 2018 she made further warnings, posting Snapchat pictures of various celebrities sitting in the same position.
She wrote: "[These] people... do not realise that they are sending out the WRONG message by putting their feet on the dashboard!!"
She added: "If only they knew how dangerous it is.
"To say this breaks my heart would be an understatement. I feel helpless looking at these photos."

Man Using Live Snake As Facemask Spotted In A Bus In UK
~1.1 mins read
A man was spotted using a live snake as a makeshift face mask on a public bus in England .
The unidentified man was taking the bus from Swinton to Manchester on Monday with the snake wrapped around his neck when another passenger snapped a photo of the bizarre moment.
A passenger, who wished to remain anonymous, said she first believed the man was only wearing a “funky mask†until the reptile started slithering over the handrails, according to the BBC .
The woman said she found the incident “really funny†and the other passengers didn’t seem bothered by the serpent.
“No one batted an eyelid,†she said.
Authorities said a snake is not a proper face covering during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Government guidance clearly states that this needn't be a surgical mask and that passengers can make their own or wear something suitable, such as a scarf or bandana,†a Transport for Greater Manchester spokesperson said in a statement, according to the outlet.
"While there is a small degree of interpretation that can be applied to this, we do not believe it extends to the use of snakeskin - especially when still attached to the snake," the statement said.
In England, face masks are required on public transportation such as planes, trains, and buses to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
