While the Nigerian army has already commenced the 'Operation Crocodile Smile' across the country, an unidentified soldier has, however, come out to passionately appeal to his colleagues to shelve the idea of attacking unarmed protesters.

As the EndSARS protest gathers momentum across the country, there have been calls by the protest organizers that the protest has been hijacked by thugs who are out to destroy lives and property.

From Lagos, to Abuja, down to Edo state, the story of thugs causing mayhem and chaos have been reported. 

Just today, the Edo state correctional facility was broken into and over 200 prisoners freed. In Abuja, a location in Apo called Kabusa junction was overrun by thugs and many cars were set on fire.

This afternoon in Lagos, some policemen of the RRS squad escaped death by the whiskers as armed thugs descended on them right in traffic and launched an unprovoked attack.

These and more have necessitated the call for the army to roll out its military hardware and officers to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

But in the video as seen this evening, the soldier who wore a mask that covered almost 98% of his face leaving out just the lips, appealed to his colleagues not to engage any peaceful protester in a fatal mode.

He warned them that the fight the protesters were fighting was a collective fight for the youths of the country.

According to him, if any soldier fires a bullet, it may be possible that either his brother or mother may be in the crowd.

He further asked the soldiers to understand that the fight was for a better Nigeria.

He mentioned that as a private, they earn about N50,000 while a lance corporal earned about N55,000 which does not amount to anything.

He therefore said that if the country is good, the soldiers would also enjoy it as their means of livelihood will also be better.

This revelation is against widespread belief that Mrs Buhari was in Nigeria at the moment especially after she lent her voice to calls by young citizens for an end to police brutality earlier in the week.
