Congratulations to the beneficiaries (widows) of the newly constructed bungalows from the first lady of Anambra State. The houses are also equipped with televisions, refrigerators, standing fans, set of furnitures etc. She also constructed borehole for the beneficiaries.

Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Her Excellency, . Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) was in Awka, Eziora, Ozubulu and Amaze, Aguleri in Egwusigo and Anambra East Local Government Areas for the commissioning and handover the two keys furnished bungalow house to the indigent window, Mrs Eucharia Nwakibie, who lost her husband in 2012 in Ozubulu and Mrs. Victoria Udenka in Ameze Aguleri.

I must confess that the Covid-19 pandemic came with its own negative sides and bad luck to students especially the ones in final year. But the truth remains that, clamouring and protesting for school resumption now is totally unwise and not advisable.


 
Before jumping to protest and create unions asking government to reopen universities, have you asked yourself the question "How are we going to cope?" Recall that before the ASUU strike and the Coronavirus pandemic, many schools had not finished the first semester studies not to talk of conducting all CAs.




So, if schools are asked to reopen now that the year is long lost to coronavirus issues and the ASUU strike, how will they be able to conduct the first semester and second semester exams still following the academic calendar? It's totally pointless, the earlier everyone realizes that the year is gone when it comes to tertiary educational activities the better for us.



Secondly, the Coronavirus is still in the country and increasing on a daily basis. If schools, universities to be precise are asked to resume, the virus will easily spread to alot of students thus leading to a serious issue in the country. If you are student and have passion for your life and not just education, then you will never agitate for school resumption. Schools should remain closed till 2021, so that students can start everything on a smooth lane.


I therefore urge and hope that this piece of writing gets to the Minister of Education. Asking Universities both private and public to reopen this year would mean further reducing the quality of the education students receive and also exposing the students to potential harm of the virus.

Life is more important! Stay safe and always follow NCDC directives against the Covid-19 pandemic. God bless you!
