Here is about the Igede tribe been the third, for more knowledge of it as tribe in Benue and not only Idoma and Tiv. The Igede people reside east of Idomaland. The ancestor of Igede people originally made his home on the west bank of the Niger, opposite idah. Igede's were part of a clan called Igbegede , some of its people spread to cross river from Benue (few of then in cross river) so they decided to change the clan from Igbegede to OGOJA in cross river state. Today we all hear Ogoja.

   The Adutu of Igede is the chieftaincy title of the Igede's in Benue state. Igedeland today comprises of  Oju and Obi local govt area of Benue state( 2 local govt) while Idoma(6 local govt) and Tiv(14 local govt). The ancestor is "Ocheche" like Idoma "Alekwu", Tiv " Swem"

   These are fact about the Igede people of Benue and it (Igede) should be recognised and given chances in Benue political seat and offices. Their attire is blue and black which is lovely.
