Mob Sets Suspected Thief Ablaze In Delta For Snatching Phone From A Lady With Toy Gun (graphic Photos)

The suspect before he was set ablaze
A suspected thief was beaten to death and set ablaze by a mob in Idjerhe community, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday morning, November 24.

It was gathered that the suspect, who was part of a two-man gang accosted a lady with a toy gun and snatched her mobile phone and undisclosed sum of money.

When the victim discovered that it was a toy gun, she raised the alarm and the suspected robbers fled.


 
The alarm attracted the attention of the a mob in the area, who pursued the suspects. They caught one of them, beat him to death before setting his body ablaze.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident.

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect have attacked an Adamawa community and abducted an unspecified number of women in the process.

Reports on Saturday morning have it that the insurgents stormed Kwapre, a village in Hong Local Government Area of Northern Adamawa on Friday evening, shooting sporadicaly and picking up the women.

An anonymous source confirmed that the insurgents during the invasion killed five people, destroyed houses and other properties and made away with belongings of the residents.



Buhari Condoles With Buni Over Grandmother's Death


President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State over the passing of his grandmother.

Buhari also extended his condolences to members of his family on the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother, Hajiya Fatima Mallum Yuram.

Buhari prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Hajiya Yuram, who was an embodiment of peace and motherhood, lived a remarkable life of humility until she passed on at the age of 102.



PDP Leaders Makes Another Resolution


Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, Saturday said the Governors and leaders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, have revolved that they would not repeat the mistakes of 2015 that cost the party the leadership in the country.

The Governor who spoke at the North Central Congress of the PDP held in Makurdi commended the party for holding a rancour-free congress which clearly indicated the resolve of the party to ensure fairness in all its activities.

In a statement commemorating the birthday of Africa’s leading philanthropist and industry giant, signed by his media aide, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said the “pandemic has placed enormous strain on many nations, but in our case, due to the support and cooperation of citizens like Dangote who display great empathy and sacrifice to mankind in their own ways, the burden has been made somewhat lighter for the citizens and the government.”




"PDP Will Capitalize On APC's Failure" - Ortom


Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has said that the People Democratic Party (PDP) will capitalize on the glaring failures of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) to clinch Power in 2023.

Governor Ortom stated this at the North Central Zonal PDP Congress held at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Saturday.

While opining that the North Central will work hard in 2023 to return to the PDP, Ortom who is the leader of the Party in North Central enjoined all the new leaders of the party in the zone to imbibe equity, fairness and justice to protect and preserve the constitution of the party.
