Disability Is Not Inability: Meet Mohammed D. Usman Who Produces Bucket Heater Instead Of Begging, He Is Creative.

Mohammed D. Usman is from a poor family in Adamawa state, he wasn't born crippled, he was involved in a fatal accident that almost cost his life.

After his accident, he was receiving treatment at home because there was no money to take him to the hospital, when his family realised that he was not responding to home treatment, they decided to take him to the hospital.

By the time they got to the hospital, it was too late, The doctors confirms that Mohammed has partial paralysis, and he won't be able to walk again.

Mohammed is a young man with a promising future, he strived to be admitted into one of the universities in northern state, but couldn't further after his accident, because there was no money to continue.

Because Mohammed is someone that believe that disabilities is not inability, and being disabled does not limit one to attain their goals in life, he came up with an innovative idea of Producing local electric bucket heater, instead of sitting on the road to beg for alms.

With this Local bucket electric heater, you can boil a full bucket of water that will be enough for more than 5 people in a family once, and you you can also boil water with it for cooking.

What you have just reflected on should have hopefully given you a little bit of insight about the types of challenges a person with a disability may face on a daily basis. Sometimes we take the simple things in life for granted and fail to recognize the obstacles that others have to overcome everyday. The ease of our own lives can prevent us from seeing life through the eyes of others. 

Although people living with some type of disability may not have the opportunity to live life in the same way that we do, we must realize that disability is not inability.
