She was brought into the world on 27 September 1933 to parents, Tiburelo Medina and Victoria Losea, her dad was a silversmith, and she had eight siblings.

She lived in the Ticrapo locale of Peru. She had her first period at the age of three. At four years old, her bosoms were completely developed. when she became five years old, her mother noticed the sudden increase in the size of her abdomen. At first the mother thought the little girl was possessed by a demon and when there was no sign of demonic manifestation from her, she changed her orientation and inadvertently believe she has stomach cancer. In any case, she later seek for medical help by taking her to the hospital.
However, after series of test, the medical clinic informed the family that she was 8 months pregnant.
She delivered a baby boy at the maternity emergency clinic in Lima at full term on 14 May 1939. The baby was named after Lina Gerado's. doctor. Upon entering the world, the child weighed 2,700 grams and was healthy and in perfect shape. Until the age of 10, Gerado thought that his mother was his elder sister.

The biological dad of Gerardo was never known as a result of that, her father was accused of impregnating her and was arrested but was later released in the absence of evidence and her inability to explain what really happened to her that led to the pregnancy.
