We are alive today not because we merit it but because God's mercy is upon us. You can increase your chances of living a healthy lifestyle when you take good care of yourself.
There are some lifestyle and food that damages our health and affect the way we reason, act and talk. Mental fitness is very necessary and important for the development of our brain.
Most people don't know that the lifestyle they are living can affect or damage their brain.
In this article, I will be discussing some lifestyle we embrace that are gradually destroying our brain.
What brain is?
The brain is one of the greatest and most complex organs in the human body, it is made up of a large mass of nerves tissue that is protect by the skull. It is the control center of the central nervous system of an animal located in the skull which is responsible for perception, cognition, attention, memory, emotion, and action.
The brain is an organ that’s made up of a large mass of nerve tissue that’s protected within the skull. It plays a role in just about every major body system.
 
Some Of Its Main Functions Include:
•processing sensory information.
•regulating blood pressure and breathing.
•releasing hormones.
The brains plays a very important role in the human body system. The talk, walk, body movement, reasoning, eye movement, facial movement, heart beat, eating, etc are all controlled by the brain.
Here are major things that brains does: 
>The upper part of the brain, which is divided into the two cerebral hemispheres. In humans it is the largest part of the brain and is the seat of motor and sensory functions, and the higher mental functions such as consciousness, thought, reason, emotion, and memory.
This cerebrum controls human ability to think, talk, feel, see, hear, review things, walk, motor skills, problem solving, judgment, planning, and attention. significantly more.
>The brain balance of all bodily functions. It does this by:
•maintaining daily physiological cycles, such as the sleep-wake cycle.
•controlling appetite.
•It’s also involved in consciousness, sleep, and memory.
•brain is involved with emotion, long-term memory, and behavior.
•regulating body temperature.
•controlling the producing and release of hormones.
Here are five things that can hurt or damage the brain:
1. Too a lot of sugar use.
Excess of sugar is not good for the body. As it increases your chances of developing deferent health problems.
In all parts of the body, excess sugar is harmful. Even a single instance of elevated glucose in the bloodstream can be harmful to the brain, resulting in slowed cognitive function and deficits in memory and attention.
To avoid mental limit and deficiencies in memory and thought, you need to avoid excess intake of sugar.
2. Not getting enough rest.
Do you know that absence of rest makes us sensitive and irritable, and debilitates cerebrum limits, for instance, memory and dynamic?
Many people don't know about this fact. Getting enough sleep is good for the body as it helps the brain to memorize and function properly.
Some people are too busy to sleep or rest, too stressed, this don't allow you brain to relax properly. Lack of sleep affects your metabolism, immune system, and genetic health and especially brain health.
3. Playing rowdy music with earphones or headphones.
Rowdy music hurts the nerves in the human mind as the central force in thought, emotion, and behavior of an individual. This don't affect the psyche alone, it also affects the ear function. 
When listening to songs with earphone or headphone, you are advised to moderate the volume of your gadget to prevent damaging the vital organs of the body.  
4. Missing breakfast and lacking water confirmation.
Some people don't know that skipping breakfast affects the body system, especially the brain. This prevents the brain from fundamental enhancements. Students who eat very well perform better at school. 
Also lack of drinking enough water prevents the blood pressure of the body to regulate properly. Sometimes, it causes an individual to experience headache and depression. 
5. Smoking
You should know that smoking is bad for your overall health, smoking leads to cognitive decline.
Tips For A Healthy Brain
Follow these tips to keep your brain in good health and to reduce your risk of certain brain conditions:
Use it or lose it
The best way to improve your mental fitness, is by using the brain. if you don't use the brain it won't develop properly. You can develop your brain by reading, learning or you can engage in mental games like puzzle, ludo, monopoly, etc. This helps you in development of brain cells.
•Protect your head
Despite the fact that the skull is protecting, you still need to protect your head. You should wear helmet when engaging in actives that may lead to serious injury. Activities like riding a bike, playing contact sports, working as an engineer, etc. You should also fasten your seat belt when driving or been driven in a car. 
Both of these can go a long way when it comes to avoiding brain injuries.
•Exercise
Doing regular cardio workouts and yoga help stimulate blood flow throughout your body, you should do some cardio today instead of lifting weights. This will help increase your brain function. 
•Quit smoking
All individuals has been warned against smoking, because it effect the body system negatively and has led to many diseases like cancer, etc. 
Smoking also affects the mental reasoning of a individual which leads to cognitive decline.
Listen to your thoughts
This is a practical testing of your brain function. You can monitor your feelings and thought from time to time.  
Try to check in from time to time with your thoughts or feelings. Keeping a diary is a good way to get into this habit. Look for any thought patterns or emotions that seem to be impacting your day-to-day life. They could be a sign of an underlying, treatable psychological condition.
