I sat close to a mother, and child in a commercial Bus, and took note of something, quite spectacular- the child of about 5 years of age, was given some fruits that her mother bought. While her mother ate hers, the little girl held on to hers. Quite curious, her mother turned to her, and asked:
"You no won chop your own pineapple? Why you dey hold am like that?"
The little girl shook her head, without a word. Quite dissatisfied with her response, her mother insisted on knowing the reason behind the refusal to eat her pineapple.
"Talk nau! Why you no won eat the pineapple? Abi, you no like am?" She asked. Then, the little girl looked at her mum, and responded.
"Mama! You no know say, na dirty habit to chop something wey you neva wash? Dem tell us for school say make we dey observe proper healthy hygiene." The little girl added.
Immediately, her mother paused for a moment, looked at the remaining pineapple she held, and shruded.
"Hmmmm... My pikin, no be lie you talk sha, una teacher try well, well..."
This scenario continues to be a reference point and a pointer to the importance of our health, as individuals and a nation. We cannot afford to be ignorant about our health and wellbeing, good and healthy hygiene cannot be overemphasized, thus this segment has been created, and is also dedicated to matters bothering around our health.

POKING?

I remember, one of those weekends when returning from the studio, while waiting for the vehicle to take off, I noticed a well dressed young man who appeared quite put together. His appearance gave him away as someone who is quite detailed.
Coincidentally, he sat next to me, not quite long, the vehicle took off.
Few minutes into the journey, my attention was drawn to what this young man began to do. Occasionally, he would poke his nose with his index finger, in an attempt to clean it up.
And this continued until I got to my destination.
Was I dissapointed? Yes!
Was I surprised? Not really!
You see, quite a number of us, are guilty of this same, unhealthy habit:
POKING OF THE NOSE!
It almost looks like, everyone lost something, and seem to be searching the nose for it😃
On a serious note, that's not only uncool, it's equally unhealthy.
Now, reflect on the number of times that you had to use that same hand to eat, hold a cup, serve a meal, shake hands, touch your face, e.t.c
Quite apparently, it all seem like an entire unending transfer of germs at different stages. We need to pay attention to our hygiene, and deliberately too, because your health status is not unconnected to it.
Cultivate the habit of using clean disposable tissues to clean your nose, whenever it's needed.
Do not expose these used tissues, dispose of them, immediately.
Wash your hands, once you are done.
Avoid the temptation of poking your nose with your fingers, it's not an OIL WELL!ðŸŒ
Remember, if everyone is deliberate about having a good hygiene, we stand so much to gain, collectively.
