~1.1 mins read
Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide emitted through the breath of humans. Most mosquito traps today, contain a mechanism that emits carbon dioxide that attracts mosquitoes and tap them.
In addition to these commercially produced chemicals, natural products like garlic also helps in protecting humans from mosquito bites.
Here are procedures to follow in using garlic to kill mosquitoes, below:
Step 1: First of, you blend 4 to 5 garlic bulbs with few drops of water in the blender to make it a liquid.
Step 2: Pour the liquid gotten, through a sieve to separate the solids from the garlic oil/liquid. Add the garlic oil/liquid to 1 gallon of water. Mix well and pour into a spray bottle.
Step 3: Look for the mosquito breeding areas such as garbage cans, dog bowls, drains, and other places where the waters are stagnant.
Step 4: Spray the garlic oil/liquid directly on the breeding areas. The garlic oil/liquid contains compounds that are toxic to mosquitoes and kill larvae and adults on contact. The spray also prevents mosquito eggs from hatching.
