Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organisation, says the WHO will recognise and certify countries that are trans-fat-free.
He said this at the virtual launch of the ‘WHO Report on Global Trans Fat Elimination 2020’.
He said: “In addition to launching the second progress report today, I’m delighted to announce WHO’s plan to certify and recognize countries and their leadership for eliminating industrially produced trans-fat from their food supplies.â€

Kaduna Abduction: Injured Victim Dies In Hospital

One of the injured victims of the abduction who was shot in the mouth by suspected bandits at Chikun Local Government Area on Saturday has died.
The victim, Omega, died in the wee hours of Monday at Birnin Gwari hospital where he was receiving treatment, his family has disclosed.
Daily Trust had reported how ‎the deceased and his family members were attacked on their way to their farm at a place called Gonar Lema on Saturday.
‎It was reported that 17 members of his family were whisked away to an unknown destination during the attack.
His uncle, Malam Umaru told Daily Trust that Omega was buried at a Christian cemetery around 10 am on Monday at Udawa village.
“He died around 3 am in Birnin Gwari where he was receiving treatment and we brought him back home to Udawa and buried him around 10 am,†he said.
