Incredible Researches.
~3.1 mins read
As an occasional browser of Opera Mini News Hub for some time now, I am beginning to be skeptical about the veracity of the barrage of adverts on some herbal remedies which have always aroused my interest.

In this era of ubiquitous deadly viruses and bacteria, most of which have defied orthodox medications, one wonders who wouldn't be interested, when he/she comes across such catchy headlines on the curative powers of some local herbs, roots, fruits and vegetables.

While I profoundly appreciate the efforts of those herbalists/researchers (so to speak), who make these pieces of information available to members of the public almost on a platter, my interest and enthusiasm in the publications have recently begun to wane.

This is sequel to my observation of the inconsistencies and conflicting reports which now characterize the publications on this online media platform.

A situation whereby Mr A says that garden eggs (for example), are good for your health, and Mr B tells you that the vegetable is harmful to a particular organ in your body, is to say the least, irreconcilable and very confusing.

In order to avoid instilling fears in the minds of those who might have found some of these herbal therapies beneficial, I will cite just a few instances here, to avoid discouraging them from the usage.

For instance, bananas are said to be very rich in Vitamin C, an antioxidant essential for healthy heart. The fruit is also known to be good for ease in digestion, and equally fights anaemia, among others.

Another researcher dropped a bombshell, that the same banana which is reputed for its invaluable nutrients, could also be poisonous.

According to this piece of information which went viral some time ago, bananas when eaten together with an egg, could send the consumer to his/her early grave, in a matter of minutes! This is incredible, isn't it?

Not left out, is Garcinia kola, otherwise known as bitter kola. This medicinal fruit is credited with the potency of curing virtually all ailments under the sun! This includes enhanced sexual performance, anti-poison and anti-cancer, just to mention a few.

Of all these researches, I think the most incredulous as well as deceitful, and which actually spurred this post, was the one under the sensational caption; "THREE IMPORTANT REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD STOP USING RED OIL TO COOK."

This embarrassing story published on Opera News Hub, was dated Saturday, 20th June, 2020.

While recognizing the fact that palm oil is essential for the prevention of Vitamin A deficiency, cancer, brain disease, aging, in addition to the treatment of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cyanide poisoning, the author of this story highlighted three reasons why we should stop using red oil to cook.

Here are his submissions (unedited).

(1) There are some evidences that including palm oil in the food of pregnant ladies and kids, might reduce the danger of developing Vitamin A deficiency, which will possibly affect the child's health.

(2) Consuming palm oil as a part of a specific healthy eating plan, does not seem to lessen cholesterol levels in people with high cholesterol.

In fact some research shows that palm oil might absolutely grow cholesterol levels in comparison to different oils, which include soybean, canola or sunflower.

(3) Studies have shown that high intake of palm oil by kids below five years of age, does not decrease the symptoms of malaria, but rather increases it.

After going through the above submissions, I came to the indisputable conclusion that the author of this garbage, has been hired to use his vicious pen to run down the economy of a particular geographical zone in this country.

If not the height of mendacity coupled with inexplicable malice, how could this anonymous fellow have preferred processed vegetable oil like the ones he listed above, to natural palm oil which was largely instrumental to the Methusalean longevity of our forefathers.

While blaming Opera News Hub for allowing such trash to be published on its platform, I advise that it should always ascertain the veracity of any claim(s) before publication, as this particular one under reference is falsehood in its totality, and lacks both authenticity and verisimilitude.
