Here below are more advantages/benefits of yogurt:
🮠Yogurt is good for gut health
🮠Yogurt is rich in calcium so it's very good for bones.
A bowl of yogurt is said to have 300 grams of calcium. Since the elderly are at risk of osteoporosis, a cup of yogurt daily after lunch is adviseable.
🮠It restores a healthy yeast balance in the vagina, so it's good for treatment and prevention of infections in women
🮠Yogurt is a good alternative for lactose-intolerant people
🮠Yogurt aids in body trimming/fat loss and weight management.
🮠Prevention of cancer, infections, gastro-intestinal diseases and asthma.
... And much more benefits
But for now, let's look at yogurt for kids
BENEFITS OF YOGURT FOR KIDS
A child is some one who is not up to 18yrs. And their daily nutritional needs are provided by the parents.
Yogurt has been proven through research and studies to be one of the most important dairy food in the life of a child.
Milk contains a high concentration of protein and calcium which is needed in the growth of a child.
Calcium is for strong bones and protein for building the body
The protein in milk is broken down in yogurt during the production process for easy digestion. That's why yogurt aids in digestion.
Now, it's not all the yogurt that is available in the market that is good for a child. Avoid commercial yogurt that are often filled with additives, flavors, sugar, etc
Children need a full fat plain or a little sweetened yogurt, preferably sweetened with natural sweeteners like fruits and honey.
HOMEMADE YOGURT has a sweet and fresh taste that comes with it, especially when you use a good milk, so, it's easier to drink yogurt without or with little sugar.
Yogurt on its own builds up a child's immune system, bone, brain and body formation.
It helps them pass out faeces easily
For a child with Sickle cell anemia which is a disorder of the red blood cells that causes it to have the shape of a sickle, such child experiences lots of pain, weakness, loss of appetite, weight and often exposed to infections.
As we all know, yogurt has a lot of calcium, a small cup of yogurt can give you 400mg of calcium, a child needs 700mg of calcium per day.
Sickle cell anemia is often associated with low calcium intake, vitamin D deficiency and poor appetite so giving yogurt to SS children will surely improve their health greatly
HOW CAN I MAKE MY CHILD TO LOVE YOGURT?
🿠Start giving them yoghurt at early stage. 6 months is a good start.
ðŸ¿Start by serving it alongside their favorite meals. Replacing milk, but not all the time.
🿠Use it to make cereals for them
🿠Give it to them as a snack.
🿠Make pancakes with it.
🿠Give it to them as a drink instead of other kiddies' products that are sugary & unhealthy.
🿠Use it to make a fruit puree for them.
🿠Put it in their school lunch box
🿠Make pudding for them with it.
In the next part we'll cover the production process, items and ingredients needed.
Have a great day people!
