Some Facts I Think You Should Know
~1.3 mins read

Hello everyone, I would like to share with you something i observed in our Nigerian health system. So, i'm sure you all know the two brands of tin milk in the picture below. A lot of people i have met, say they prefer this to that because of either their taste, texture or health benefits. Here are some facts i think you should know:

Both Three crowns and Peak are made from the same company here in ikeja, Lagos.
This means they are the same milk with different brand names and designs as a marketing strategy
They are both 150ml each and have the same nutritional information - which means if you are like my mum that thinks three crowns is healthier because of what is written on it ....think again.
You are meant to dilute the tin of milk with 215ml of water before use
If of a truth, one is creamier than the other (which i havent noticed by the way), that means they aren't made the same, which means one is higher in calories than the other, which goes to show that the nutritional info on most Nigerian products aren't accurate and just a copy and paste to comply with NAFDAC regulations.
So if you are someone who watches what they eat for any reason whatsoever like: health, weight or allergy - it goes beyond flipping to the back of that product and reading the nutritional info and ingredients, we need to be careful and stick to more natural foods than the processed ones, cos we really cant be too sure.
( I wonder y one is more expensive than the other 😅😅)
** Hope i have been able to help someone today...Thank you.

EASY HOMEMADE BREAD RECIPE
This is the recipe you should follow for making homemade bread in the oven:

2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
5-6 cups flour –You can use all-purpose flour OR bread flour!
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time.
Knead dough for 7 minutes. Place in a well oiled bowl, and turn dough to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Knead for 1 minute and divide in half. Shape into loaves and place into two greased 9×5 inch loaf pans. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until dough has risen 1 inch above pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30-40 minutes.
Cool, brush with butter and enjoy!
