Hausa Man Corrects Errors Of 'Southerner' Who Said Northerners Don't Understand English
~3.9 mins read
A lot of people have this mindset that those in the North are not educated at all and they see them as illiterates which is very wrong. I have heard people say that Northerners are the least educated people in Nigeria and that most of them cannot communicate in simple English even those who are schooling, due to the fact that they are mostly taught in Hausa Language. I have personally seen those who schooled in the North communicating in English and the idea that they are not bright, brilliant or intelligent is a mere fallacy.
A Facebook user with the name Adejare Ibrahim has shared a conversation between a Southerner and a Northerner which later saw the Northerner correcting the grammatical errors made by the man.

Samuel Ogabo Joseph said that most teachers in the north, including the headmasters and headmistress do not understand English Language and that all forms of communication are done in Hausa language.
A Northerner who saw his comment proved to him that they are not dullards. Balarabe Suleiman replied to his comment as he pointed his grammatical errors he made while attacking Northerners and saying they are not well educated. The man used the word "Doesn't" and the Hausa man told him that it was wrongly used, adding that it is used for 3rd person singular. He told him he would have used "Don't", instead of "Doesn't".
The man typed 'north', instead of 'North' and the Hausa man also corrected him, saying that 'North' is a proper noun and should begin with capital letter 'N'. He told him that he lives in the North, and that this man needs special lessons in English Grammar.

A lot of people reacted to it, saying that most Southerners are misguided and have the mindset that Hausas and those in the North are not bright.

It is high time we stopped thinking Northerners are not bright, this man just proved it that they are indeed brilliant.

EDUCATION CANNOT BE FUNDED BY GOVERNMENT ALONE-NGIGE
~0.5 mins read
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has stated that education cannot be funded by the government alone.
Ngige stated this on Tuesday when he made an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today while responding to questions about the impending industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
“I know that because I schooled here in Nigeria. I did my primary education, secondary and university here and I did my post-graduate outside the country. But I can tell you, in other climes education is not only done by government”.
“The state of education here is not anything to cheer about, I agree. The standard has fallen, I agree. But education cannot be funded by Government alone,” the minister said.
