LBreaking: FG Approves Full Reopening Of 104 Unity Schools

Seven months after closing its schools across the country in order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the federal government has announced October 12, for full reopening of 104 Unity Schools in Nigeria.
Channels TV reports that the news was broken on Friday, October 2, by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja while explaining that the COVID-19 curve has been flattened.
Adamu also warned that schools who fail to adhere to outlined COVID-19 safety protocols, risk closure if there is an outbreak from such learning facilities.
Recall that Lagos, Oyo, Kano, and Enugu have since announced dates for the reopening of schools in their states.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the federal government released new COVID-19 guidelines for the school administrators.
It was reported that the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, on Thursday, September 17, mandated schools to carry out weekly risk assessments as it added that states and local governments would conduct monthly and quarterly risk assessments.
The head, department of surveillance and epidemiology, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Elsie Ilori, announced this in Abuja at the joint PTF briefing on COVID-19.
