Students React Angrily To The Photo Of Women Protesting Against ASUU Strike
~0.9 mins read
In line with the current protest going round the country that SARS unit in the Nigerian Police Force be dissolved, it has also raised other issues at hand in the country which many have been quiet on, and that's the ASUU strike.
Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities have been on Strike since March this year and despite the government asking that schools resume on 12th of October, as some state universities have also reopened too, the Federal universities in the country still can't open because of the ongoing strike.
While many Nigerians have been on protest both online and off for SARS to be dissolved, another photo was shared on one Unizik Aspirants Group on Facebook where some women were seen with placards protesting that the ASUU strike be called off so their children can go back to school, as their educational system is at stake.
Going through the reaction box, I discovered that many of the students have already given up hope of resuming school this year as they are even angry the protest went on in the first instance. Many were asking if they begged them (the women) to go for the protest as it's obvious they're already engaged in other things that are quite productive to them.

We Won't Resume Oct.12,We Are Ready For Indefinite Strike If Our Demands Are Not Met-SSANU, NASU, ASUU
~1.0 mins read
There was a great excitement when the announcement was made on Friday for all school across Nigeria to be reopened by October 12, made by Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education.
The announcement was welcomed with a great joy by boh students, parents, and Schools in all States across Nigeria, but undergraduates of the schools under the leadership of Senior Staff Association Of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) are still unhappy as the bodies, SSANU and NASU made the announcement that they will embark on a two-week strike from Oct. 5 to Oct. 19.
The announcement was made due to the inconsistencies of the integrated Personnel and Payroll information System (IPPIS) in the payment of salaries and non-payment of earned allowances to members, said the National President SSANU, Samson Ugwoke and General Secretary NASU, Peter Adeyemi in a statement on Friday.
These two bodies, SSANU and NASU are joining ASUU in the ongoing strike due to non-payment of minimum wages, retirement benefits, poor funding of state universities, and so on.
The issue of strike is causing more delay in reopening of several universities, and this is causing Undergraduates to be Unhappy after a long stay at home.
There is yet to be a conclusion or agreement between the Federal Government, and these bodies, ASUU, SSANU, and NASU, as the bodies are already on strike.
