Professor Tor Joseph Iorapuu hails from Aliade, Gwer-East local government area of Benue state.
   He attended Government College and College of Education, all in Katsina- Ala Benue state and the University of Jos, Nigeria , where he read Theatre Art up to the PhD level. 
   He has served his alma mater as a member of faculty. A professor in the department of Theatre and film arts, he was also dean, faculty of Arts, university of Jos .
    Professor Iorapuu has done a lot of work on Theatre For Development(TFD), right from his days at the College of Education, Katsina-Ala up to his current position at the University of Jos before he was on Sabbatical in Benue state university.
   The erudite Professor of Applied and Social Theatre scholars, has made indelible imprints in the academia and the social struggle.
   Due to his commitment to influence change in Society, beyond curricular requirement he has provided leadership in the founding and running of youth, Adolescent,Reflection and Action Centre(YARAC) in Jos.

FG And ASUU Set To Resolve The Strike

The academic staff union of universities, while reacting to president's statement noted that the president declaration that only its member enrolled on IPPIS would get their full salaries. President of the union stressed that the union has an understanding with federal govt on the improvement of an alternative payment platform called universities transparency and accountability solution ( UTAS) which was received warmly by the federal govt.
   In his words, "I really don't think the president's speech was meant to disturb the union , we have met with the president and presented the matter to him, the meeting ended with a positive outlook. The UTAS has been presented to Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu and is currently awaiting approval and implementation. Meanwhile they is still hope for students in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria as Asuu and federal govt would be having a finishing talks soon concerning the lingering strike.
