Hydrangea Season In Japan Is One Of The Most Beautiful Things You'll Ever See.
~0.8 mins read
Hydrangea season in Japan is one of the most beautiful things you'll ever see.

Japan is home to some of the most incredible displays of hydrangeas.
Instagram is awash with stunning photos of hydrangea gardens and one such area of beauty is the Unsho-ji Temple in Kitaura, Oga-shi, Akita Prefecture.
Here, thousands of hydrangea plants create a stunning sea of blue blossoms, and as you can guess, it's a tourist hotspot. There are many other popular hydrangea spots, including the Meigetsu-in Temple in Kamakura, which is often referred to as a hydrangea temple.

In Japan, hydrangeas bloom during rainy season (between June and July), and these bundles of deep, vibrant blooms bring nothing but pure joy!

Native to Asia and South America, ajisai – Japanese for hydrangea – is pretty much everyone's favourite flower (we mean, what's not to love?) and the ability to change colour remains one of its most fascinating features.

Take a look at how these gorgeous hydrangeas bloom so beautifully in and around Oga, Japan – we guarantee you'll be in awe...
