Experts Develop AI Software To Fix Sales Gaps
~1.7 mins read
Three African tech entrepreneurs with experience at Interswitch, Microsoft, and the London Stock Exchange Group have launched Revwit, an AI-powered sales assistant designed to transform how business-to-business sales are managed across the continent. Founded by Chinedu Ossai, Damilola Aluede, and Dayo Adekanmbi, Revwit is tailored to local sales dynamics, allowing African business teams to manage leads, deals, and customer engagement without the complexity of traditional, foreign-built CRMs. The tool already supports over $800m in B2B deals across Africa. “We didn’t build Revwit just because it’s a business opportunity. We built it because we’ve led teams, chased deals, and wished there was something simpler,” said Revwit co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, Damilola Aluede. “We want to give sales teams a tool that just works—so they can focus on selling, not struggling with software.” Revwit lets African sales teams automatically capture leads from forms, emails, and calendars; enrich them using AI-powered data capture from a global database of over 200 million contacts; and track deals through customisable pipelines that reflect how African businesses actually buy and sell. It also enables one-to-one and bulk email outreach with built-in personalisation. The product is easy to set up—users simply sign up and connect their email to get started. There’s no onboarding delay, no need for consultants, and no need for technical skills. Revwit is available in local currencies, starting with the naira, and will soon support the Kenyan shilling, Ghanaian cedi, and South African rand. It is also fully NDPR-compliant and GDPR-ready, ensuring enterprise-grade data security. The Chief Executive Officer at Placidcode, Napa Onwusah, said, Revwit is perfect for where we are as a company. It updates our leads automatically, which frees up our time to focus on what matters most—our customers.” More than 200 African startups and professional services firms are already using Revwit to simplify and scale their B2B sales operations. With its MVP now live, the team is doubling down on integrations, automation, and expanding payment support to make the product even more accessible across the continent. “Revwit goes beyond traditional sales CRM capabilities. It’s a B2B sales assistant because it does your CRM work for you,” the Chief Executive Officer of Revwit, Chinedu Ossai, said. “It’s the tool we wish we had while chasing deals across Africa—one we didn’t have to spend hours a day updating contacts.”

FiberOne Advocates Industry Collaboration On Fibre Infrastructure
~1.9 mins read
The Chief Executive of FiberOne Broadband, Lanre Ore, has called for a united front of governments, companies, and institutions to build inclusive fibre-optic networks, warning that Africa’s $180bn digital economy by 2025 risks faltering without a robust connectivity backbone. The continent requires a robust digital foundation that effectively connects, includes, and empowers all its communities, the telecom executive told The PUNCH on the sidelines of GITEX Africa in Marrakech, Morocco. Ore, who leads one of Nigeria’s leading internet service providers with over 33,000 subscribers, cautioned that the sheer scale of Africa’s digital infrastructure needs cannot be met through isolated, national efforts. The company announced its presence in Nigeria around 2017 and has since garnered significant interest from users seeking alternative internet service providers. Earlier, during a session titled “Critical International Partnerships for Fibre Deployment,” Ore articulated that infrastructure, particularly fibre-optic networks, serves as the essential bridge between aspiration and tangible access, fostering both innovation and widespread inclusion. “Fibre remains the most reliable bridge between aspiration and access, innovation and inclusion. But the scale of what Africa needs cannot be achieved in silos,” he told the panel. Ore’s remarks come as Nigeria, the continent’s most populous nation, intensifies its drive to expand digital access. Nigeria’s internet penetration is currently pegged at approximately 44-45 per cent, but it is still lagging behind the government’s ambitious year-end target of 70 per cent. In a bid to address this deficit, the Nigerian Federal Government has approved a $2bn project aimed at deploying an additional 90,000km of fibre-optic cables by the fourth quarter of 2025. This initiative is projected to increase Nigeria’s national fibre backbone from 35,000 km to 125,000 km, a significant step expected to substantially improve high-speed internet access nationwide. Complementing this national effort is the Nigerian Broadband Alliance Network, launched in February by the Nigerian Communications Commission. The NBAN aims to bridge the internet gap for nearly 28 million Nigerians residing in underserved and unserved areas. Ore emphasised that while these national initiatives are crucial, the private sector must play an equally vital role. “Our contribution extends beyond mere connectivity; we are enablers of progress, empowering communities and constructing the infrastructure that will underpin tomorrow’s economy,” he asserted. He also cautioned that despite projections indicating a potential $180bn contribution from Africa’s digital economy by 2025, the continent’s future remains vulnerable without robust digital foundations. “Fibre-optic infrastructure is not a luxury; it is the bedrock for advancements ranging from cloud computing and fintech to smart cities and remote education.” However, deploying fibre at the required scale presents significant capital and logistical challenges. “No single government, company, or institution can achieve this future in isolation,” Ore stated. “It demands cross-border coordination, regulatory alignment, and risk-sharing mechanisms that can only be facilitated through multilateral partnerships.”
