~1.3 mins read
We all know The Undertaker as one of the greatest superstars in WWE history, but here are 10 things you might not know about “The Deadman”.
He was managed by Paul Heyman in WCW
Prior to joining the WWE and becoming The Undertaker, Mark Calaway wrestled in WCW as “Mean Mark Callous.” He was also managed by a young Paul Heyman, then going by the name of “Paul E Dangerously.”
Debuted in WWE under a different name
In his official WWE debut, he was introduced as “Cain The Undertaker.” This was quickly dropped in time for his television debut the next week. The name would be revived and fittingly used for his brother, Kane.
He was a member of an off-screen group in the 1990s
The Undertaker was a member of the “Bone Street Krew” or BSK for short in the 1990s. Other members included Yokozuna, Rikishi, The Godfather and Paul Bearer. All group members had the letters BSK tattooed on them – which can be seen on the stomach of The Phenom.

Forced Vince McMahon to apologise to Bret Hart
Following The Montreal Screwjob, The Undertaker forced Vince McMahon to go to Bret Hart’s dressing room and apologise to him face to face. This led to The Hitman punching McMahon square in the face.
Was ready to fight Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14
At WrestleMania 14, Shawn Michaels was booked to drop the WWE title to Stone Cold Steve Austin before retiring due to a back injury. In expectation of HBK causing trouble, as he did back then, The Undertaker readied himself backstage.
Luckily, nothing happened and the two went on to become close friends in later years.
Competed in the most Hell in a Cell matches
The Undertaker has competed in the most Hell in a Cell matches with 13. He competed in the first against Shawn Michaels and the most famous with Mick Foley. His record stands at eight wins and five losses – two of which came versus Brock Lesnar.
