Tesla Unveils Its Cybercab, Robovan, And More—What You Need To Know
~2.1 mins read

Tesla (TSLA) unveiled its highly anticipated "Cybercab" robotaxi, "Robovan," and more at the electric vehicle maker's “We, Robot” event Thursday.

CEO Elon Musk, who rolled into the event at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California in a Cybercab to demonstrate its fully autonomous capabilities, said the vehicle comes without a steering wheel or pedals, and can be charged wirelessly.

Musk said the Cybercab will enable “individualized mass transit,” and could help bring down transit costs, among other benefits. It will become available for purchase for under $30,000, he said, describing a future in which owners could manage fleets of the vehicles.

Tesla also revealed a larger robotaxi called a Robovan, that can seat up to 20 passengers at a time, or be used to transport goods.

Musk said he expects Tesla’s fully autonomous driving capabilities will come to Texas and California by next year with the Model 3 and Model Y, with the Cybercab in production by 2026.

Musk suggested that autonomous driving supported by artificial intelligence could also make driving 10-20 times safer, and invited attendees at the event to take rides in the Cybercab and Robovan.

Musk showcased Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot as well, with some helping serve drinks, dance, and perform other functions at the event.

Musk said he believes the humanoid robot, which will become available for between $20,000 and $30,000, could become “the biggest product ever, of any kind.”

While a release date was not offered, the CEO has previously said Optimus already performs some "simple factory tasks" in Tesla's labs, could be expected to be in Tesla's factory by the end of 2024, and may be ready for external sale by the end of 2025.

Tesla shares were little changed in extended trading following the announcements. While Tesla shares have mostly recovered from a steep selloff in the first half of the year, they remained about 4% lower for 2024.

For years, Musk has been saying a fully autonomous Tesla vehicle could be coming soon, and the announcements come after the event was delayed from its original date in August, adding more pressure on Tesla to impress with fresh developments worth the wait.

Tesla could provide more details about its plans along with its third-quarter financial results after the closing bell on Oct. 23.

T-Pain Should Stand For Temporary P+in, Because In Life, You Often Have To Grow Through P+in To Achieve Gain. There Is No Permanent Gain Without Some T-Pain — Reno Omokri
~0.7 mins read

Reno Omokri has revealed that T-Pain should stand for Temporary P+in, because in life, you often have to grow through p+in to achieve gain. There is no permanent gain without some T-Pain.

He said Nigeria is currently going through a necessary phase of pressure that will result in an accessory state of treasure.

The Southeast Asian nations experiencing economic strides today went through this Temporary P@in stage yesterday. It is inescapable for a country that wants to clique jump from Third World to First.

He supported these reforms, and if we are to be intellectually honest, when you look at the manifestoes of both the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, everything this administration is doing is what we all said we would do if we won the 2023 election. Float the Naira, remove fuel subsidy, and devolve power to states and local governments. T-P@in is Temporary-P@in. There is no permanent gain without some T-Pain.

AMD Launches New AI Chips To Meet ‘Insatiable’ AI Demand
~1.7 mins read

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled its next generation of artificial intelligence (AI) chips at its Advancing AI event on Thursday, though shares fell after the announcements, with analysts suggesting investors may have been looking for more from the chipmaker.

AMD announced its fifth-generation EPYC server processor, which CEO Lisa Su said delivers dramatically more power than its predecessor, and new Ryzen AI PRO processors for enterprise AI. The company also showed off its latest Instinct MI300X series GPU, the MI325X, with production set begin in the fourth quarter and availability for AMD's partners in the first quarter of 2025.

The new products come as demand for AI chips grows, and could help AMD expand its market share. AMD said its market share for its EPYC server processors hit a new high of 34% at the end of the second quarter, and could continue to climb with its next generation of products.

Analysts suggested ahead of the event that it could be a "catch-up" catalyst for AMD to expand its slice of the market, after a strong start to the year with data center sales hitting a record high in the second quarter.

Su also highlighted the chipmaker's partnerships with Oracle (ORCL), Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google, Meta (META), and Microsoft (MSFT) at the event.

Kevin Salvadori, Meta’s VP for infrastructure and engineering, said that the company’s work on generative AI has made use of more than 1.5 million of AMD's EPYC CPUs and utilized Instinct GPUs for projects such as developing its Llama large language model. Oracle SVP Karan Batta added that AMD's Instinct GPUs have delivered strong performance for the company, and Google Cloud VP Amin Vahdat called the demand for AI computing power "insatiable."

The event did little to benefit AMD's stock price, however. Shares fell 4% Thursday to close at $164.18. Jefferies and Wedbush analysts suggested investors may have been looking for clearer signs of competition with Nvidia (NVDA), an outlook boost, or new customer announcement.

HP Enterprise Unveils New Servers Powered By AMD Chips For Large AI Projects
~1.1 mins read

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced new servers designed to support artificial intelligence (AI) clusters used for tasks like training large language models.

The company said its ProLiant Compute XD685 is meant to address the needs of large AI model builders, including governments and enterprise clients.

The system is powered by the new fifth-generation EPYC processors and Instinct MI325X accelerators from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), which the chipmaker unveiled Thursday at its Advancing AI event.

The ProLiant Compute XD685 is available to order now, and will become generally available in the first quarter of 2025, HP Enterprise said.

HP Enterprise could stand to benefit from the growing demand for powerful AI server racks, due in large part to its liquid cooling technology, Bank of America analysts said Tuesday, ahead of the announcement. Larger, more dense data centers require liquid cooling to maintain their temperature.

“As computing moves to larger scale clusters, we expect HPE to benefit from their unique history to deploy large scale systems at scale,” the analysts said.

Shares of HP Enterprise slid 1.5% to $20.54 Thursday, but are up over 20% for 2024 so far.
