I Stole A 14 Year Old Baby Because I Was Childless

A woman, Sukyama Irmiya, who walked into the ward of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi State to ste@l a 14-day-old twin baby, has disclosed what prompted her into committing the crime. 

The 30-year-old suspect, from Kanam LGA of Plateau State, was arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, six days after she st@le the baby by posing as a hospital staff member. 

Speaking with newsmen, the suspect said: “I came to Bauchi to see a doctor and from there I went to the Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) to see a doctor but I later changed my mind because of the condition I found myself in. 

I thought that even if I met the doctor, it is all about child bearing and I don’t have a husband because I have been chased out of my marriage, so there’s no hope of child bearing. 

I st@le the child because I want it, I want to take care of it as my own child, that was the reason I went for a newly-born baby. I had tried adopting one but I couldn’t get one because there was no infant child available at the orphanage I went to. I did not do it with any ulterior motives, I just want a baby so that I too will be called a mother.

I entered the ward and met the woman, I engaged her in friendly conversations and she loosened up with me. I asked her if she had twins and she answered yes, I then asked he if I could take him to see how he looks, and she allowed me to do that.

Immediately I took the baby, my heart told me to act as the mother and go. I then told her that I was coming and I just left the hospital and went away with the baby. I followed the main entrance to the main road and boarded a Keke and went to the village called Za’a in Kanam LGA.”

Mr Ikiotere Ayebatonye Otuma, a physically challenged man has completed his National Youth Service Corp, NYSC. 

As soon as he received his NYSC certificate, the man took to his Facebook account to celebrate. 
The 28-year-old man, was a graduate of Niger Delta University, Amasoma where he studied Management. 

Ikiotere in an interview published at the beginning of his NYSC service year in 2021, said that there is no excuse for failure.

 It broke my heart to see him so alone and confused. And suddenly I managed to make his teary eyes meet mine. I don't like the smell of sad. I wanted so badly to jump on him. He spoke to me tenderly and I knew, I had to rescue him! That human needed me. So I barked with all my might, followed him for blocks and blocks.
 I got closer, I could smell his hands. The human smiled for an instant and when he took me in his arms, I began to feel his cold heart warm. I got close to his cheeks and felt a tear roll down them. I looked deeply at him and his response was a bright smile. I jumped excitedly into his arms, I promised to behave myself, love him forever and never leave his side.
How lucky he was to pass through that block, down that street and I also feel lucky.
 There were so many people walking by and no one was looking at me. All worried, all involved in his problems. I'm glad no one else chose me! Today I saved a life. Today I adopted a human. 🐾🕊️💞

Soldier Reportedly Shoots His Girlfriend Dead, Commits Suicide.

A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself. 

The soldier identified as Emmanuel Walugu Onyango shot himself on the chin with an AK-47 rifle while dressed in full military combat.

This is after he had sprayed the body of Ms Immaculate Mwende Mwirigi with bullets in what police believe to be a case of love gone sour.

The bodies of the two were found in an apartment in Nanyuki town where they reportedly lived together. 

A resident of an apartment alerted police that she had heard gunshots near her neighbour’s house at around 9:30pm on Friday, October 7, 2022. 


Laikipia County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) Mr Onesmus Towett, who confirmed the incident on Friday, said police officers rushed to the scene but found the door of the house locked from inside.

The officers were then forced to break into the house where they found the two bodies lying on the floor. Immaculate was was already dead having been shot at close range.

They rushed Mr Onyango to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

"The officer was on duty just before the incident took place, he then went ahead and asked for permission to go for supper at 6pm during which he went to meet Ms Mwirigi,” said Mr Towett.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The bodies were moved to a local morgue pending probe.

A review of Immaculate's social media shows that she had been dating the soldier probably from last year.

On his part, Emmanuel had made a post suggesting suicide way back in September of 2013, around the same time he had Osama bin Laden as his profile picture.

Details are scanty on when he joined the military.
