Why We Can’t Call-off Strike Yet, By Doctors
The meeting between the Ministry of Health and the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) ended without any hope of ending the doctors’ strike.
NARD President Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi told The Nation that the government was not serious about addressing the association’s demands.
He said: “The meeting was very short. They felt we did not keep to the time – that we came at 12 noon. We had to remind the Director of Hospital Services at the Ministry that the estimated time was 12 noon and we came in a few minutes before 12.
“She told us that they have some marching orders from the Minister, House of Representatives and the Senate on how to make things work, that they are only to hear from us. So I kept quiet and allowed my Secretary to speak with her, she said thank you and we said thank you, and she said they have another meeting by 1 pm. That was how we left.
“Nothing happened. The meeting was just a joke. She was telling me that if it was not for anything she would not have allowed me to enter her office. I also told her that there was nothing I would want to come to do in her office if not for the meeting. I believe when people start taking things personally like you have a personal interest, then it becomes quite strange.â€He further explained that in previous meetings, the government stated that those on the GIFMIS platform would not be included in the IPPIS platform until they were verified.“But in all, we move on and continue with the struggle. We are always open to ways to make our health sector better because it is a stakeholder thing and not a personal fight.
Will Lukaku Win The Golden Boot Ahead Of Kane? Is It Possible To Stop City?
Manchester City, who sit atop the table, made the biggest news with the record-breaking £100 million purchase of Jack Grealish. Though Manchester United have new signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, Chelsea’s already illustrious roster is hoping that striker Romelu Lukaku will lead them to Premier League glory when he officially signs.
Will he win the Golden Boot ahead of Harry Kane? Which teams will qualify for the Champions League? Will the new Championship entrants Watford, Norwich, and Brentford return to the Championship promptly, or will other more established Premier League sides be threatened?
Manchester City is a football club based in England. For years, we’ve chastised the French, German, and Italian leagues for being uncompetitive, with the title seemingly decided before a single ball is kicked. Is there really that big of a difference now in England? City has won three of the previous four titles and is now attempting to strip their nearest rivals of their finest players, as they look to recruit Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to go along with their recent acquisition of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
Chelsea, Leicester, and Manchester United are three of the best teams in the Premier League. Chelsea should be a sure-fire top-four bet with the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku, while Leicester should continue to improve under Brendan Rodgers, and United’s additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane make them tough to overlook in the Champions League reshuffle.

From Rivals To Roommates! Sergio Ramos Invites Old El Clásico Foe Lionel Messi And Family To Stay With Him In His New Paris Home
Sergio Ramos has informed Lionel Messi and his family that if they become weary of staying in hotels, they may move in with him. Former LaLiga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona are now team-mates, according to El Pais, and Ramos has already told Messi that if he doesn’t want to stay in a hotel, he is welcome to bring his family to Ramos’ home.
Messi is presently residing at the Le Royal Monceau hotel, which is where all of PSG’s major acquisitions stay until they find permanent housing. Ramos was momentarily at the hotel on Avenue Hoch, just off the Champs Elysees, when he signed but is said to have moved to the same Neuilly-sur-Seine neighborhood as Angel Di Maria and Marquinhos.
During Messi’s 16 seasons in Barcelona, Ramos had his run-ins with the Argentine, and the house-sharing offer is the start of a new chapter in their relationship. It could be a while before they play together on the field.
Messi has not trained since the Copa America and is unlikely to be available to Mauricio Pochettino (who was playing in defense for Espanyol when Messi made his Barcelona debut) before the end of the month.
