After 7-hour meeting, PDP governors reveal how APC will be defeated in 2023

For the PDP, there are claims that notable names will spring up again as in the last poll in 2019.

Some of these bigwigs who are expected to battle for the PDP's presidential ticket are Bukola Saraki, Atiku Abubakar, and Aminu Tambuwal, although they are yet to personally indicate interest in the race.

2023: Southeast can’t win if it gets presidential ticket, PDP chieftain Dokpesi declares

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the PDP, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, had said that his party has a good chance of sacking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

He said the PDP would win the next general election if it fields a candidate from the northern part of the country in 2023.

Legit.ng gathered that Dokpesi, in an interview with Daily Independent, said PDP members who were canvassing zoning of the presidential ticket to the south were only doing so because they want to copy the APC.

VAT: Lagos Applies To Join Rivers As Respondents In FIRS Appeal
~1.1 mins read
The Lagos State Government on Friday applied to the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division to be joined as a co-respondent in the appeal filed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service challenging the judgment of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt had declared that the FIRS has no power to collect VAT and Personal Income Tax in Rivers State.

The matter slated for the day’s activity in court on Friday was the application filed by FIRS seeking for stay of execution of the trial court’s judgment.

However, the Attorney General of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) informed the court of their application for the Lagos State Government to be joined as a party in the appeal.

He argued that the application for joinder should be taken first before FIRS’ application for stay of execution.

However, the counsel for the FIRS, Mahmoud Magaji (SAN) argued that their application for stay of execution should take precedence over the application for joinder.

After listening to submissions from all the parties, the court stood down the matter for the ruling.

The Attorney General of Rivers State, Zacchaeus Adangor, and E. C. Nkala (SAN) for Rivers State.

Tijjani Gazali (SAN) represented the Attorney General of the Federation.

Also in court is the Rivers State Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu, and the Deputy Director & State Coordinator of Rivers, Edo, and Delta Zone, FIRS, Hamisu Mohammed Ibrahim.

As of now, it is quite unclear how many housemates will be going home and how many will be staying back in the Shine Ya Eyes edition of the reality tv show.

However, per the usual eviction rate of the competition we’ve seen so far, two or three people are sent home. Just a few changes were made to last week’s eviction as it marked the ‘Kingsize’ eviction; sending four housemates home.

To avoid heartbreaks and disappointment, fans have been advised to vote continuously for their favorites so they can escape eviction. Today will be the last day of voting for this week’s eviction.

Organizers have warned that fans shouldn’t claim there has been foul play somewhere when their favorites are sent home because of lack of votes.

Some people claimed that there was foul play somewhere when Maria was evicted for low votes income, therefore, it’ll be sad to see that happen again.

Super Eagles midfielder Ramon Azeez has been thrown into the transfer market as a free agent after Spanish club Granada decided to terminate his contract in heartbreaking situation.

Following his impressive performances at Lower League side Lugo, Granada signed the Super Eagles star in 2019 and was an important member of the squad then.

However, things turned the other way round for Ramon Azeez last season at Granada as the club decided to send the Nigerian footballer out on loan.

And at La Liga Smartbank side FC Cartagena where Ramon Azeez finished the term on loan, the Nigerian managed to play 16 games and helped the side to escape relegation.

According to the report on Guardian and Soccernet, Granada chiefs wanted Ramon Azeez to go out on loan again this season which the Nigerian refused.

His refusal forced the club's eggheads to terminate his contract and he would have to wait until January next year before possibly joining another club.

Granada's statement

“From today, they (Azeez and Bravo) are free agents.
“We looked for ways out for them, and they did not accept those options. We made numerous efforts and made calls to a multitude of places.”
Meanwhile, this latest development is expected to affect Ramon Azeez getting a call into the Super Eagles for subsequent games and he must work hard to get himself attached as soon as possible.

Ike Ugbo wants to play for Super Eagles

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Ike Ugbo who currently plays for Belgian side Genk as a forward has made it clear that he wants to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and not the Three-Lions of England.

The 22-year-old who started his professional career at Premier League side Chelsea sees himself not getting the chance to play for England national team and will not want to waste his time.

Over the years, Nigeria and England have engaged in battle on the allegiances of some players, and recently, the European nation triumphed as they got the trio of Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Bukayo Saka.

The Nigerian Football Federation tried their best to make these players play for the Super Eagles, but they turned their backs on Nigeria and picked England.
