Ronaldo Vs Messi: Who Has Gotten More Career Red Cards And More Yellow Cards This Season
~2.1 mins read

The rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is well documented. Both players always look to outdo the other even though none of them would want to admit it.

Both players have broken numerous individual records and they have both won many trophies in their illustrious careers. Over the years, the determination of both players has caused them to commit offenses that would warrant a yellow card or a red card. Many a time, both players, especially Cristiano Ronaldo have been accused of being rude and arrogant. Although this seems true, it is not entirely so as both players' determination to win at all cost often get the better of them.

In this article, we would be looking at the number of red cards that both players have gotten in their club and international career and the number of yellow cards that each player has gotten this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, technically, has collected 10 red cards in his career. Technically because his first career red card for Manchester United was rescinded. The Portuguese superstar got two yellow cards; the first one for diving and the second for time-wasting. The first yellow card was later canceled. He got three red cards at Manchester United, six at Real Madrid, and one at Juventus in his Champions League debut for the club.

Messi on the other hand has gotten only three red cards in his career. His first came in his Argentina debut in the match against Hungary. He was sent off after just 43 seconds. His second red card came against Chile in 2019 while his third came in January 2021 against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup.

This season, Cristiano Ronaldo has been yellow-carded on four occasions. Twice in the English Premier League, once in the Champions League, and once in the Serie A. Messi on the other hand has only been yellow-carded once. This was in the Champions League match against Club Brugge which was his Champions League debut for Paris Saint-Germain.

Top Five Best Active Strikers Above The Age Of 35 In World Football Right Now
~3.8 mins read

Ageing is assumed to be the worst enemy of footballers as it is usually accepted that the boots will be hung up sooner rather than later for players, more especially when their 35th birthday arrives.

In as much as most footballers' performances start to shrink when they are on the wrong side of 30, one would expect them to retire in their mid-30s. But you would not think that way if you could just take a look at the list of the best over 35 football players in the world who are still unquestionably strutting their stuff at the highest level.

Radamel Falcao

Eyebrows were raised when it was announced earlier this season that Falcao had signed for Rayo Vallecano, but the Colombian centre forward is enjoying a career renaissance in La Liga, underlined by his match-winning finish in this game. Most players would have rushed the shot after being played in behind, but Falcao had the composure to cut back inside and guide his effort in off the inside of the far post. Even at the age of 35, he’s still got it!

Olivier Giroud

The 35-year-old has recovered from the back trouble he suffered following a bout of Covid-19 last month and he hopes to return to action in Serie A this weekend. He is happy with his new life in Italy, where Milan signed him for his forward play but also for his ability to serve as a positive example to the team’s many young players.

Edin Dzeko

The New Inter striker has already proved to the fans and management that he can slot in well with the philosophy and style at Inter Milan. Upon is age, the Bosnia talisman doesn't show any slow down. Still one of the best striker in serie A so far this season.

2 Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The 40-year old has an aura of immense confidence around him, and his self-belief is astonishing.Currently, with AC Milan, Ibrahimovic signed a new deal with the club earlier this year. Since joining the club in 2020, he has made 38 league appearances and scored 26 goals. Ibrahimovic’s longevity and incredible fitness have been matched by his performances on the field.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo is a footballing chameleon. He has conquered Europe across a variety of leagues in a variety of positions and adapted to fresh circumstances every step of the way. His move back to Manchester United raised plenty of eyebrows after appearing to go a little off the boil at Juventus, but he has proven that he maintains the pace, the finishing prowess and otherworldly desire to win that took him to the very top in the first place. Ronaldo may have slid a little down the rankings by virtue of success as part of a team unit – his Juventus spell didn’t bear the Champions League trophy his arrival promised or aid team cohesion – but he remains one of the most lethal strikers around.

Hey, Stop Self Sabotage!!!
~2.7 mins read
Do you know the behaviors that are holding you back?

As we look forward to starting a new year in few weeks to come, it’s good to start thinking about what new habits and fresh perspectives you’d like to create for the new  year and beyond.

What’s creating obstacles to your success?

For many, it begins in their own head, so stop sabotaging yourself with your own thoughts and actions! All too often, we place limitations on ourselves that prevent us from living out our dreams.

Whether your dream is...

Financial freedom
Jumping out of an airplane
Losing weight
Expanding your social circle

...we sometimes get in our own way — and often, without even realizing it.

Here are a few ways we do that:

1: Staying In Our Comfort Zone

Our critical inner voice likes to keep us in a nice, safe box.

Our brains view this as self-preservation, because it wants to protect us from feeling vulnerable, making a mistake, being judged or being disappointed. That critical inner voice may say, “you aren’t worthy” or “that’s too much work,” or “what if you fail?”

You may be so programmed to listen to that voice that you’ve even started to believe it.

2: Believing A Negative Self-Image

Whether this is leftover from...

A tough childhood
A painful divorce
A harsh boss
Self-inflicted

...your inner critic is so familiar to you that you don’t even stop to challenge it.

We get stuck in patterns and then base our whole lives around those parameters because that’s what we are used to.

The defenses we put up to protect us only limit our lives and our potential.

3: Letting Fear Rule Us

In almost everything you do in life, you either act out of fear (ego) or love.

Fear is the energy that causes us to shut down, hide and silently suffer. Love is the energy that pushes, heals and allows us to open up. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of rejection and fear of judgment often holds us back.

But if you don't fight through that very same fear then you’ll never know what exists on the other side of it.

You’ll never know what you are capable of.

I’m here to tell you that we are more resilient than we think. Don’t let your own fear, negative self-criticism or comfort zone keep you down. Sure, you may try something new and fail.

But I firmly believe we will never regret the things we’ve done, only the things we never tried.

And now that you’re more aware of this phenomenon, keep your ears open to instances when other people say things like, “If only I could…”, or “That’s impossible…”, or “I can’t because…”.

When you hear these sorts of comments, ask yourself...

What could solve this person’s problems?
How could a business be built around solving this problem for people?

You may discover a great business idea or opportunity that you can leverage into wealth.  At the very least, it will get your mind and others in the habit of thinking like an entrepreneur.
