MY UNCLE - FICTION
~1.0 mins read
People like my wicked uncle will always take you for granted just for one silly mistake.

For the first time, I misplaced over N300,000 in our chemical sales yesterday and, ever since, my uncle has been cursing and yelling at me.

I tried to make him understand that I lost the money because I was the only one left in the shop yesterday, to attend to over a hundred customers' demands.

But he wouldn't hear. He insisted that I'm naturally foolish and that I'm dumb for losing such money. He even said that I'm good for nothing.

His wife has pleaded with him to take it easy on me, but he shunned her.

"If not that you're my sister's son," he said to me, "I would have thrown you out of this house. You're not good at doing anything."

That's rich coming from my uncle, though.

If he knew for the past seven years, that I'm the one saving his marriage to his pretty wife, he wouldn't have said I'm good for nothing.

And if only he knew that his sixteen-year-old daughter whom he boasts is an introvert and never leaves the house to 'follow' boys is always indoors because of me, he wouldn't have said I'm not good at doing anything.

Well, he's just an ungrateful bastārd.

Number Of Times A Normal Human Being Should Urinate At Night
~1.2 mins read
Urination is one of the natural things we must do as humans. It is important because the water and fluids we take must leave the body one way or the other and the only way for them to leave the body is through urination. But the body was designed in such a way that everything works for the good of the person concerned.

Due to how important getting enough sleep is, the kidneys often slow down when a person is sleeping to prevent waking up severally in the middle of the night to urinate. Studies have shown that waking up severally in the night to urinate is not healthy in anyway as it could mean something is wrong with you. So in this article in line with a publication on Healthline, we are going to find out the number of times a healthy person should wake up in the night to urinate.

What Number Of Times Should A Healthy Person Wake Up At Night to Urinate?

According to research, the kidneys slow down temporarily to allow the body rest unless in cases where a diuretic was taken. Due to the Kidneys' slow action while sleeping, people sleep 6-8 hours without getting up for once to urinate.

So a healthy person should not even get up in the middle of the night to urinate as long as he or she didn't drink water immediately before bedtime. But if you must, it should not exceed 2 times in a night. If you wake up 2-4 times in a single night to Urinate, then something is certainly wrong with you and as such, there is need for proper evaluation to know what could be wrong. There are many causes of frequent urination at night while sleeping and they all need serious medical attention.

~0.6 mins read
Ghanaian minister of God, Rev. Eastwood Anaba has offered relationship advice to adults in his church on how to maintain their relationships.

He mentioned various groups of people you shouldn’t entertain while you are in a relationship while addressing the assembly.

Eastwood, Rev. Your Exes are at the top of the list, according to Anaba.

When you start dating someone new, the man of God believes you shouldn’t keep in touch with your ex.

He emphasized that you shouldn’t talk to this ex even if they are married because doing so could damage your new relationship.

Rev. Eastwood Anaba encouraged the congregation to avoid their ex-spouses because they might still harbor fantasies about them even though they are already married because they might see them as the ideal partners they should have chosen to wed.

~1.1 mins read
A Nigerian man residing in Germany has cried for justice after allegedly being assaulted at a club for speaking up against a racist act.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the man who goes by the name Nino Cro, said he and his friends visited a club known as Rudas Studious Club last Saturday, July 16. He said despite making reservations, they were turned back by the bouncers because of their 'skin color.' He said the bouncers got physical with his friends when they objected and it was in the process that he was also assaulted and left with injuries.

Read his post below...

''My friends and I (three male People of Color) stood in front of the Rudas Studios Club in Düsseldorf last Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at around 1:00 a.m.

One of my friends reserved a VIP table in advance with confirmation from the boss. Nevertheless, we were turned away by security at the entrance and told us "This is not a black club." (btw. Afrobeats was playing that evening)

When we tried to explain verbally why we weren't being let in just because of the color of our skin. The bouncers got violent with my two friends.

When I wanted to intervene, I was beaten up and hospitalized by a total of five bouncers. Today I am in the hospital with a double broken jaw, two broken teeth and more bruises all over my body. Also mine Friends carry injuries with them. We demand that this club bear the consequences. Please share my story!''

Osun State: INEC Replies Davido Over Certificate Of Return
~0.9 mins read
The Independent National Electoral Commission has faulted a musician, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, nephew to the Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator, Ademola Adeleke, over the timeframe for the issuance of a Certificate of Return of Saturday’s governorship election in the state which Adeleke won.

Senator Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The musician had queried why the commission had not presented the winner of the election with a Certificate of Return after 48 hours as provided by the law, on his verified Twitter handle.

Replying to Davido, the commission in a statement by its National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said the commission had up to 14 days to issue the winner with the CoR.

He said, “Those that intervene and play roles in the electoral process should try to have basic knowledge of the constitutive legal instruments that guide and regulate the conduct of elections.

“The commission is a public trust and a creation of the Constitution and the law and must be seen to respond to public demands for transparency and openness.

“The commission will continue to uphold the basic tenets of transparency, openness and inclusivity in the conduct of elections and the delivery of electoral services.”
