There seems to be no end to the contentions surrounding the killing of the wanted notorious gang leader, "Gana", who lost his life after an alleged gun duel with the Nigerian Army on Tuesday.
Recall that an early report on Tuesday indicated that the wanted criminal gang leader in Benue State, Terwase Agwaza, had surrendered to the Benue state government.
However, later in the night, another fresh details emerged, which revealed that the notorious gang leader, has been shot dead while on his way to Government's house, where he was expected to be received by Governor Samuel Ortom.
Moreover, further information gathered showed that Agwaza, who is popularly known as "Gana", was killed during a gun battle with military men at a roadblock mounted by the soldiers at Gbese-Gboko-Makurdi road, on Tuesday.
Consequently, while reacting to the development which has attracted mixed feelings from many Nigerians, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, lamented why the Nigerian Government through the Nigerian Army, will kill an alleged criminal that gave up himself, but the same government has consistently rehabilitated terrorists.
In his words, he said:
"I don’t understand why the Nigerian government will kill an alleged criminal that surrendered, but rehabilitate confirmed terrorists that did not surrender, but were overpowered and captured. Gana may or may not have been guilty. That was for a court to decide!"
Consequently, in view of the contentions surrounding Gana's killing, coupled with the fact that Gana had earlier surrendered in the year 2015, but went back to continue his criminal activities, do you think Gana shouldn't have been eliminated by the Nigerian Army.
