Delta Governor’s SA, Shimite Bello, d+es from alleged p+is@ning; Pastor-husband arrested

Mrs. Shimite Bello Love (née Nwakalo), Special Adviser on Trade and Export to the Delta State Governor, has d+ed under controversial circumstances.

Widely known as Madam Sabificate, Shimite reportedly d+ed of p+is@ning on Easter Sunday.

Family sources told SaharaReporters that her husband, Pastor David Favour Love, has been arrested following allegations that he p+is@ned her. Witnesses say she was found foaming at the mouth before being rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, Asaba, where she was pronounced d+ad.

The late Shimite, who previously served as Executive Secretary of the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was also CEO of the Quintessential Group—an enterprise active in agriculture and solid minerals. In 2023, she contested for the Oshimili North seat in the Delta State House of Assembly primaries under the PDP.

A family member revealed she was in high spirits the day before her d+ath. “She was vibrant when we spoke on Saturday. On Sunday, she didn’t respond to my Easter message—unlike her,” the source said.

Trouble began when her maid called Shimite’s brother, worried that Pastor David had locked her in all day. He rushed over to find Shimite unresponsive with foam at her mouth. She was taken to the hospital, but it was too late.

Family members allege that Pastor David had increasingly isolated Shimite from loved ones and took control of her life—including her properties. “Since he came into her life, everything changed. She was completely cut off,” a relative claimed. “He trailed her movements, prevented her from going to work, and changed ownership of her assets to his name.”

Described by close sources as controlling and jealous, Pastor David is accused of manipulating Shimite. “He had nothing before her. She believed everything he said because he was her ‘spiritual father.’”

Attempts to reach Delta Police PRO, SP Bright Edafe, were unsuccessful. Shimite’s b+dy has been deposited in the mortuary as investigations continue.

Five Confirmed De@d, Others Inj¥red In Billiri, Gombe As Truck Pl%ughs on Easter Celebrants

A devastating incident occurred on Monday in Billiri, Gombe State, where an articulated truck loaded with goods veered into a group of Easter celebrants, resulting in multiple f+talities and inj¥ries.

The tragic event unfolded along Tashan Gona as the group was returning from a mountain prayer gathering. Eyewitnesses reported that several individuals were k+lled instantly, with some victims reportedly cr+shed beyond recognition. Many others sustained varying degrees of inj¥ries and were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

In the aftermath, tensions escalated as irate youths set the truck abl+ze. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and sought refuge at the Billiri police station. Most of the victims were said to be children and youths who had participated in the prayer gathering.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Buhari, stated that five persons were confirmed d+ad and several others inj¥red

“We recorded an acc+d£nt at Billiri Local Government after a truck conveying goods from parts of Taraba lost control in Billiri. Five persons have been confirmed d+ad, while others who are inj¥red are undergoing treatment at different hospitals,” he told SaharaReporters.

This incident has cast a pall over the Easter celebrations in the region, highlighting concerns about road safety and the protection of citizens during public gatherings.
