Tongues wag as Popular Islam cleric, Sheikh Habeebullah Adam Al-Ilory, reveals what will happen to those that use Satellite dish
In a fiery sermon that has stirred reactions across Nigeria’s Muslim community, Sheikh Habeebullah Adam Al-Ilory, the Mudir of Markaz Agege, issued a stern warning against the use of satellite television, describing it as a pathway to h+ll because it is a grievous sin.
Speaking passionately during his address, Sheikh Habeebullah declared, “Whoever uses a satellite dish or installs a satellite dish in the house will not enter Al Jannah when they d+e because it’s a haram. It’s a written law.”
To buttress his sermon, the cleric went on to show written documents about the ills of using a satellite dish as a Muslim faithful.
The statement has since gone viral, drawing both strong support and criticism. While some applaud the Sheikh’s commitment to moral discipline, others question the practicality of rejecting technology entirely in an interconnected world.
Sheikh Habeebullah, son of the renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory, continues to lead Markaz Agege as a beacon of Islamic education and conservatism in Nigeria.

Alexander-Arnold 'focused On Recovery' Not His Future
~1.5 mins read
Liverpool manager Arne Slot says defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is "fully focused" on returning to fitness following reports that he in talks to join Real Madrid. BBC Sport understands that Alexander-Arnold, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a free transfer to the Bernabeu. The full-back missed England's World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia after sustaining an ankle injury in Liverpool's Champions League last-16 defeat by Paris St-Germain in March. Slot says the 26-year-old is only focused on returning from injury. "His situation is that unfortunately he is injured. Otherwise people probably would have spoken about him having one or two brilliant performances for the England team," he said. "But he is injured so for him he is fully focused for his recovery and for us we are trying to help him to be back as early as he can." Alexander-Arnold is one of three high-profile Liverpool players out of contract at the end of the season, with captain Virgil van Dijk and forward Mohamed Salah yet to sign new deals at the club. Salah said in January that an agreement with the club was "far away", while Van Dijk said in March that he had "no idea" if he would sign an extension. "It's a situation that is there for eight or nine months now," said Slot. "These three players have performed so well under these circumstances. So no it does not affect me at all." Liverpool, who are 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League with nine games remaining, face Everton at Anfield on Wednesday (20:00 BST).

NDLEA Proposes Dr¥g Integrity Tests for Corps Members, Couples
Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, has called for the introduction of dr¥g integrity tests for NYSC corps members, intending couples, and others as a preventive measure against substance ab¥se.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, to the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, Marwa emphasized that the goal is not punishment, but early detection and intervention.
“The dr¥g problem continues to d+stroy lives across Nigeria. One in seven Nigerians aged 15 to 64 uses drugs,” he said. “This initiative will help identify and support individuals before their situation worsens.”
Marwa also praised the establishment of War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) clubs in NYSC orientation camps, describing it as a step in the right direction. He urged the NYSC to institutionalize dr¥g testing for corps members, just as he proposed the same for intending couples to prevent long-term health and social issues.
He further recommended that corps members with backgrounds in Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, Nursing, or Psychiatry be posted to NDLEA Treatment Centres to gain hands-on experience in rehabilitation and psychosocial support.
In response, Nafiu described the dr¥g integrity test proposal as “a fantastic idea” and assured that NYSC would explore the recommendations and work on a framework to deploy qualified corps members to NDLEA centres nationwide.
He also commended Marwa’s leadership and reaffirmed the NYSC’s commitment to collaborating with the NDLEA in the f+ght against dr¥g ab+se.
