After a serious car accident in 2006, both Lee Min Ho and Jung Il Woo became famous names and one of the most after Korean actors around.
Both actors were born in 1987 with only a few months difference as Lee Min Ho was born on June 22nd while Jung Il Woo was born on September 9th. The two actors have been friends from high school and were reported to been living close by then.
In 2006, while hanging out together the two actors and two other friends had a terrible accident. The group of friends was driving to Gangwon Province when a car, which was coming from the opposite lane after fleeing from a previous hit-and-run, hit them head-on, destroying the hood and engine of their car. Lee and Jung, who was seated in the back of the car, survived the accident in a critical state. Their friends, both sitting in the front of the car, died on the spot. Both ( Lee and Jung) were severally injured and hospitalized for months.
It was reported that Jung ll Woo already auditioned for the movie Unstoppable High Kick (Family is No.1) before the accident. Jung thought he's lost the role when the accident happened but luckily for him, the movie recording time was rescheduled. He had to lie to the director about his health to be able to film. His role in the movie made his name gradually known in the country as his featured in numerous ever since which included 2009 movie, Return of Iljimae,49 Days (2011), Cool Guys, Hot Ramen (2011), Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), Nightwatchman, Cinderella with Four Knights (2016), Haechi (2019), and many more.
As for Lee Min Ho, the actor received his first leading role in the high-school drama
Mackerel Run in 2007. He went ahead to feature in the movie I am Sam in 2008, our school E.T before coming into limelight for his incredible role in the movie, Boys Before Flowers in 2009. The series attracted high viewership ratings and buzz throughout South Korea during its broadcast, Lee's new-found popularity gained his many endorsement deals and created another Korean Wave throughout Asia which made Lee a Hallyu star. He's featured in numerous ever since which included, Personal Taste, City Hunter, Faith, The Heirs, Legend Of The Blue Sea, King Eternal Monarch and many more.
