In African traditions,when someone died,the whole clan was supposed to mourn. Men could sleep outside,with a big fire while the women and children slept in their huts. This was meant to ensure that no couple was enjoying sex while the other members of the family were mourning. If there was any couple that went against this and unfortunately the wife gets pregnant during this mourning period, the baby born is believed to be carrying the evil spirits of the death.
