Nvidia Supplier Astera Labs Surges On Strong Q3 Results
~1.3 mins read

Astera Labs (ALAB) shares are jumping around 30% Tuesday morning, after the Nvidia (NVDA) supplier reported on Monday strong third-quarter earnings results on the back of demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) products.

The company, which makes chip-based connectivity products to boost the efficiency of AI, reported quarterly revenue of $113.1 million, up 47% from the prior quarter and 206% year-over-year, while showing a net loss of $7.6 million, or 5 cents a share.

It also forecast fourth-quarter revenue of between $126 million and $130 million and earnings per share between 4 cents to 6 cents.

Astera, which went public in March, said in its initial public offering (IPO) filing that its customers include several key players in the AI space. Apart from Nvidia, they include Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Intel (INTC).

In a note released Monday, Jeffferies analysts said the company "looks to be firing on all cylinders heading into 2025."

"Lots to love about this report with strength across a combination of products with demand from both NVDA and multiple AI ASIC platforms (likely AMZN & GOOG)," the broker said. Jefferies has given the stock a buy rating with a $69.65 price target.

An application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) is a custom-designed chip built for a specific use or application.

Astera shares are up about 71% so far for the year.

Here's What Early Voters Said Influenced Their Presidential Decision The Most
~1.0 mins read

Across all political parties, the highest portion of early voters said the economy was influential in determining who they voted for in this presidential race.

According to a survey conducted by Redfin from the end of October through early November, 63% of voters said the economy was a deciding factor in their vote and inflation was the second-leading concern for voters across parties. According to a recent Gallup survey, more than half of Americans say they and their families are financially worse off today than four years ago.

Both presidential candidates have made the economy a cornerstone of their campaigns. Vice President Kamala Harris has focused her proposals on housing, taxes, and small businesses. Former president Donald Trump's economic agenda is geared toward foreign trade, U.S. manufacturing and targeted tax reductions.

Early voters who supported former President Donald Trump cited immigration as the most impactful factor, with the economy following second. The majority of early voters who supported Vice President Kamala Harris were concerned about protecting democracy and access to abortion. The economy was the fourth concern for Harris voters.

What Wall Street Analysts Think Of Arm's Stock Ahead Of Earnings
~1.0 mins read

Arm Holdings (ARM) is set to report fiscal second-quarter earnings after the market closes on Wednesday, with analysts sporting mostly bullish ratings on the chip-design company but looking for little price upside.

Of the 12 analysts polled by Visible Alpha, nine have a "buy" or equivalent rating, compared with two maintaining "hold" ratings and one with a "sell." The consensus price target is $138, less than a dollar above the stock's Monday close.

Raymond James analyst Srini Pajjuri made a bull case for the company in September, setting a $160 price target for Arm and calling it “well-positioned to benefit from rapid growth of GenAI in the cloud and at the edge.”

Pajjuri said that edge AI—essentially the use of AI on local devices—was “a key catalyst” for Arm’s Armv9 architecture, which is used in the new Apple (AAPL) iPhone 16's processor.

On average, Wall Street expects Arm to swing to a profit of $93 million, or 8 cents per share, from a loss of $110 million, or 11 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue is expected to edge up less than 1% year-over-year to $811.6 million.
