Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce is the highest-paid tight end in the NFL as of 2024. Kelce makes millions both on and off the field thanks to savvy investments, business ventures, and endorsement deals. Kelce has become even more popular since last year, thanks to his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift. Sales of Kelce's jersey jumped nearly 400% on sportswear and fan merchandise site Fanatics after Swift was seen cheering Kelce on at a Chiefs game last year, according to Kelce also signed a $100 milllion deal with Amazon's Wondery for a podcast he hosts with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce.

Lion K+lls 35-year-old Handler At Olusegun Obasanjo Library Zoo In Ogun State
~1.4 mins read

A lion at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Wildlife Park in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has kill3d its handler, Babaji Daule.

Daule, 35, was reported kill3d while approaching the cage to feed the lion on Saturday. According to a statement by the management, the deceased, a trained handler of a male lion, agreed to take some guests to demonstrate the feeding routine of the lion in its inner enclosure after the park’s closing time.

He was said to have neglected to secure the locks and barricade of the lion’s enclosure. “The zookeeper, apparently feeling comfortable with the animal, left the safety protection gate open and proceeded to feed the animal. He was ma¥led by the animal and di3d on the spot.

To prevent further m¥tilation of the body, the animal was put down immediately by personnel of the park. It is important to state that this activity fell completely outside the standard feeding routine of the park,” the management said.

Confirming the incident to newsmen on Sunday, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola said the lion atta3ked the handler, resulting in fatal inj¥ries to his neck, which eventually led to his d3ath. She said, “On September 28, 2024, at about 7:40 a.m., the Chief Security Officer of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library informed the Divisional Police Officer that a 35-year-old man named Babaji Daule from Bauchi State, who is a trained handler of a male lion at the Zoological Garden in OOPL Abeokuta, tragically lost his life.

It was discovered that the lion handler carelessly neglected to secure the locks and barricade of the lion’s enclosure before approaching the cage to feed the animal. This negligence allowed the lion to escape and atta3k the handler, resulting in fatal injuries to the handler’s neck and eventual d3ath.”

According to her, the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary in Ijaye General Hospital, Abeokuta.

Acadia Healthcare Stock Drops On News Of Federal Investigation
~1.2 mins read

Acadia Healthcare (ACHC) shares plunged after the operator of behavioral health facilities said it was being investigated by federal authorities looking into its "admissions, length of stay and billing practices."

The company said it has received a request for information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York and a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri. The Missouri court also subpoenaed an Acadia subsidiary. Acadia added that it expects similar document requests from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and possibly other governmental agencies. The company said that it was cooperating with the probes.

The news sent Acadia's shares down some 16% to their lowest level since May.

In a statement, Acadia said “decisions on patient care are not business decisions—they are medical ones—and these decisions are not in any way related to or influenced by insurance coverage or a patient’s ability to pay.”

The news came a day after the Justice Department said that Acadia paid $19.85 million to settle allegations of knowingly billing for medically unnecessary inpatient behavioral health services or for services that did not meet federal and state regulations.

Acadia's stock is down nearly 20% this year.
