“It all started when mummy told me to escort ijeoma “her friend's daughter” to the main road so she would enter a taxi from there. I agreed because I did not want her to think I was afarid of the bushy way.  

Our house was inside, far from the road.

There is this bushy part leading to the road that looked scary especially at night.

That night, mum knew that I can't say no. She knew I had eye for ijeoma. I agreed though I never want to.  

Before going, I took the little touch which provided little light at least with it you could see the object infront. Ijeoma and I discussed some interesting stuffs. The way she laughs anytime I said something funny melted my heart. I didn't even know the time we crossed the bushy part.

“Victor, you are so funny, when we met next we will discuss more” she said before entering the taxi.  

It was then it drawn to me that it was only I that will cross the lonely bush part. At first I took courage. I started going back home saying nothing will happen.i repeated it till I got to the middle of the bushy part. I heard voices Sir, it was like two people where discussing around me.I think I heard the first one say “What food do you think he will make?” and the second one was just laughing. I looked around didn't see anyone. Suddenly my touch light started blinking, little by little it went off. At that spot, I removed my two slippers, held them with my hands and started running with speed.

Surprisingly the voices kept following me. It was running with me. I saw a woman crying in the bush while running but I was before I slipped.” I explained by demonstrating how it 

happen..

After listening to this everyone in the room brust into laughter, the doctor was the worst as he sat on the floor laughing loud. “It wasn't a ghost my son. We found a small phone in your pocket and the radio was on. That was the voice you were hearing.” The DPO said.

It was funny but I felt shame that day.
